Grounding Barefoot Trail Ruck- Burn the Boots!

Loaded my pack with about 20-25% of my body weight and trekked up the local foothills to the pasture.
Took off my boots about 1/4 of the way up the 3 mile out and back- channelling Michael Easter's 'Burn the Ships' concept, but for my barefoot rendition I like to call it 'Burn the Boots'.
Baring my soles gives added grounding and acupressure benefits as well as added challenge to my intentional limit-pushing. I've made a peaceful looking video here, but in truth this trek was a tough one!
I didn't practice yoga asana this trip, and recovered at home with a magnesium soak and loads of foot care and gratitude.
Push out of my comfort zone, then settle back in.
This way, I'm intentionally training my nervous system along with my brain and body and as I approach my 40th rotation I've never felt better.
Stay grounded indoors and out with Earthing:

It's really impressive how despite the increasing frequency of your barefooted adventuring, your soles are still so immaculate and beautiful.

Thank you ☺️ while I’ve only just begun this account, I’ve been barefoot hiking weekly for many years now. There is definitely extensive after care involved!

@@groundedash A lovely weekly routine, at the weekend I guess, to allow your bare soles to get you nice a grounded after the working week? The after care can be just as soothing as the grounding itself, really. Gentle slow thorough massaging. It certainly does it's part keeping your bare soles pristine, they look as soft as silk. So pretty.

Actually I’m a full time mother and am genuinely primarily barefoot at home, My bed is grounded with an Earthing mat so I stay grounded very regularly (affiliate link in caption here) The weekly barefoot walk/ ruck is a discomfort practice, as I consciously train my nervous system for resilience. I push out of my comfort zone, be uncomfortable and miserable for awhile, accomplish whatever goal I’ve set for the adventure, then go home and soak it out/ return to comfort. It’s a very powerful practice and choosing my discomfort makes a huge difference in better handling life’s unchosen discomforts.

Yes barefoot is the way that we were meant to be when we can, I too wear barefoot shoes being in the big city filled with broken glass sidewalks from the lower class of people that I have to share the sidewalks with but barefoot in the house and the local park does my body good- love earthing and seeing you sharing this interest makes my day you lovely lady 😂❤🧘🏼🌿

💯! It’s so healthy to be barefoot but we def evolved to wear shoes for a reason! I keep my bed grounded too so I can absorb all those healthy electrons often whether or not I can get out for earthing. Thanks for the love 🥰

Can you make going barefoot in public challenge?

  • @groundedash

    @groundedash

    4 ай бұрын

Haha idk that I have a following to incite a challenge of any sort! Also I am not a fan of being barefoot in public spaces per se’, as part of my foot care involves cleanliness, and I maintain a grounded connection from home with Earthing mats (affiliate link in caption) This is a weekly nervous system training routine I have that I am sharing, that happens to involve barefoot walking. If you want to be barefoot in public, do it! Just walk carefully there’s lots of nasties on the city floors.

I find it strange that you started the trek with boots on but I guess you are just testing barefooting at this point.. It would also improve the viewers experience if you gave more details of your hike like where and how long and replaced that awful soundtrack with your voice and commentaries. This is meant as constructive criticisms from a full time barefooter . I hope you keep posting barefoot videos and improve on them

I appreciate this feedback so much, thank you! The videos are meant to be ambient viewing, hence no commentary. I may readdress this perspective as the channel progresses- curious what commentary you’d like to hear? Hopefully I get the account monetized in time and can gain access to better music. I will be happy to add details like distance and elevation gain, but for my own safety will not disclose location specifics. I am a long time experienced barefooter and barefoot educator and have self healed many issues from walking and training barefoot since about 2010. I began this particular trek with my (minimalist, Vivobarefoot brand) boots because the added weight in my ruck combined with the very steep beginning portion of this climb is a bit too much- which can and for me has lead to plantar fasciitis. To me it’s important to train my feet for their full range of motion, and also acknowledge that shoes were created for a reason and there are times when they are very appropriate to wear- like longer treks, extreme temps, excessively rough terrain, or while carrying heavier loads. Always minimalist- wide toe box, zero drop, flexible soles.
