The game is hard only because of lack of knowledge. So yes in the beginning. By knowing how to get stronger weapons, smithing stones, food, water, and the placement of the creatures, the game opens up and the difficulty goes down.

This isn't knocking anyone else, as I appreciate the work others put into making videos as well, but this video deserves more views and likes than any other regarding getting the pinch wacker. In early preview I had issues surviving and now I just restarted since it's full release and it seems the bugs have the same attack patterns as before. So once you learn there attack patterns it's a lot easier. And you can block 90 percent of the attacks and use a shield.

I have to say, as someone that played through what was in the game as of 6 months ago, this was a huge help. So much changed and I was REALLY struggling (even with a decent amount of experience) to get to tier 2 tools and armor. Your video helped a great deal.

I've been getting so frustrated trying to just sneak around all the bugs since I kept dying. I'm so happy that I came across this video bcuz now I know exactly what to do to get some good armor n weapons. I love how each step is explained!

To add ease of use, memorize the orb weaver attack patterns. The wind up strike The triple combo The lunge If you can take these down and get the webs through practice, ziplines cut down the time till arrival for all locations by a metric crap ton

Very helpful so thanks. I’ll add for killing worker red ants just throw a pebblet at them and they are stunned and can easily kill enough to get the ant damage mutation. Also to get bow and arrows, kill all the red mites possible and loot and then keep look out for tall purple flower and grab the thistles that grow on its stem, can platform up the leaves to get them all

You can always kill the ladybugs with a friend by moving a full grass pallet over to it and repeatedly heeyucking 5 grass blades at it taking turns 1 after the other (that’s important) and you can cheese spiders by crawling into cans, 1 big spider is roughly 50 arrows

The guide is well made and easy to follow. As someone with a days worth of experience in the game, I feel like you could of just summarized a lot of it though. Also, the title and premise is very misleading. That weapon does not make the game easier and your fights perfectly demonstrate that. The difference between struggling and not is learning to block. Holding right clicking and waiting to be attacked, then getting three to five of your own attacks in before holding right click and waiting again, is the first beginner strategy. Use that to outlast worker ants to get a red ant club and red ant armor set. Then use that strategy against lady bugs to get a lady bug armor set. Once people start timing their blocks to parry, the game becomes easy. I'm still struggling to learn to parry and pick up on bugs attack patterns.

Cosmo, the game supports up to 4 players and it is cross-platform, meaning PC players can play with console players.

Craft spiked sprigs and throw them at bugs. Theyre pretty op and its a tip that has helped me greatly

I’m over here trying to figure out how to find the gnats bodies after I kill them and want to scream because it takes forever to kill them then I can NEVER find their bodies, and don’t have a bow and your over here with a weed wackier taking out the whole population of backyard pests. Lol. I’m a HUGE survivor game player, but this game just has been pissing me off more than anything. Playing on pc but with controller right now and that surely doesn’t help bc I haven’t used one in 10 years, but this video actually taught me so much!

There are no dumb questions! 😊 On update 1.2 they added a new machine to the game called Super Duper Machine. You can duplicate things on it. BUT(!) on the early game I suppose the Pinch Wacker will be too expensive to be duplicated. To your friend, I recommend the following: 1) Acorn Armor Set 2) Rotten Larva Blade (found stuck to a rock close to the fallen log full of mites) 3) Rotten Berry Charm found at the same lab you found the Pinch Whacker

Hi DaddiBun, the Red Ant Armor is useful to go in the Red Ant Hill without being attacked by Red Ant Soldiers. Regarding the Acorn Set, I recommend using the Rotten Bee Armor Set, it will give you more defense stats as it is tier 2. you can use keys btw, don't need to click everything, and when looking at a crafting recipe check for hotcraft you can craft the required item there instead of going to the individual item itself, also one mistake I see alot of people make in their videos, they spam the fiber bandage, it is a heal over time it's not instant, so using multiple is a waste, it even says in the wiki they do not stack

Otaku, the Pinch Whacker is an unique weapon and you can't craft it. I would suggest giving your friend the trinket and the rotten larva blade I get at the end of the video. You will find another rotten armor further into the game, but I don't advise using it. Progress unlocking recipes and crafting armor based on the tier levels and effect bonus.

I just wish he showed the map a lil more when he go somewhere so we could put waypoint. I couldn't even follow him to reach 2nd lab, but I found a 2nd field station tho.

I used all of your Tips my man and they helped me well and I have just robot Wrench(and not the Bee armor, instead I have the spider Armor the medium Armor. But the Wolfspider beleave it or not is troubling me. It seems like she always gets me with the poison attack and i get killed most of times due to that nasty posion!. Is it because I need to have that Bee armor or?. Also I have noticed the Wolfspider didnt even had time to make a posion attack on you like in my case so... What Im doing wrong my fr... Thanks anyway and have a good one^^

Iwo, it is normal to have a hard time with Wolfie at first. Raise your shield and wait for the attack. After it attacks, you do a 3-hit combo and raise your shield again. When you learn its attacks you try to time it and perfect block. Regarding the armor I advice you the Ladybug Armor Set, you will take 20% less damage compared with the Spider set. Don't forget to upgrade till level 5 your armor and upgrade your Pinch Whacker when it breaks.

Bringing your backpack loot to you is a big brain move. I was not aware of this. I wonder if that'll work if your inventory is full. Just go back to the closest research station near your base and 'fix your game' to retrieve your full backpack, then just empty it in chests and head back. ...Would this work, though? Or does it only work when you respawn at the start point? Also, I don't think Grounded is hard. Just.. *extremely* annoying when it comes to inventory/base storage management. Anything that could give me an edge on this (outside of the (still sad and laughable) 35 stack limit with 15 Mega Milk Molars) would be welcomed.

Yes, that process does work but you can only do it once every gameplay session. If you want to do it multiple times you will have to quit and restart your save. Regarding inventory management, I suggest you have gnat pet (10 slots) and use the hotkeys to automatically deposit things.

I got abundant of them from the pond research lab, for me that place is easier than the hedge maze, the gear needed to go there aren't gated by hard mobs and... you also can get tier 2 koi armor (help a tons with perfect block) without engaging combat with anything.

sexy secret weapon. I think it is not intended for new players to go this route but with how I ragequitted medium even with tier 2 ant mace... this could turn the tide.

Instead of building a ramp of some sort to get to the pinch whacker, I like to build a bridge across the pond on the east side by the juice box. Then I make a stair case up the back wall. There are not any hostiles to bother you while you build. This will give me access to the whole upper yard for the rest of the game. I can upgrade it to ziplines and an elevator later. But now I can also run behind the castle murdoch and come back around where the Pinch Whacker is located. then I use a dandelion tuft to float down to the entrance. Oh and dont forget your dandelion tuft and you bomb to blow the door! Note: He said manage the weapon well. I would like to emphasize this! You cannot repair or upgrade this weapon until you beat the assistant manager. So dont wear its durability down before you fight him unless you dont want to use it to fight him. It's your best mele weapon against him so save some of it for him.

are upgrade materials limited, or do they respawn?

Yes, it is limited until you unlock recipes to craft it with different materials. The supreme is only unlocked after killing the last boss.

I was playing in Woah mode at first and found it hard to even kill red worker ants lol. The way i got red ant parts was to aggro the stink bugs that are close to the red ant hill towards the soldier ants. Then step back and let the stink bug kill them and i would collect the parts afterwards. Ive since switched difficulty to medium lol. Woah mode is ridiculous!

But didn’t they nerfed it from AoE Shock to Short Circuit. Does it makes the same damage or is it nerfed?

Raul, I just read again the 1.0.1 patch notes and there is no mention nerfing the AoE Shock. The only known nerf is that the Pinch Whacker is not a chopping tool anymore.

Did they change something with this tool, when i try to cut grass with it , it gives you need a choping tool to do that?

Yes, yesterday it was patched. It’s not a chopping tool anymore.

edit: uuhhmmm I had a red soldier ant in the dark tunnel behind burgl where the tooth is, god damn almost shat my pants and that bloody tooth saved me!! Managed to poke it to death behind the tooth and survived with just a sliver of health ffs 😂 I'm only 11mins in, I did everything until the explosion alone without guides 😂 so lost!! I have hundreds of hours in Conan Exiles but that experience doesn't quite translate in to success in this one 😂 gonna watch this through and continue, this game seems quite nice!

I don't know, possibly not, but you got to go check. Building in most objects of the game is not allowed, maybe the wooden box is an exception.

Playing in third person helps a lot just found out how to change it

Best tip to make grounded easy, learn the attack patterns and become a blocking God. You'll taking on wolfs with a pebble axe like nothing

total noob question... how are you using items from the quickpouch without hitting the left bumper(I'm playing on Xbox) and pulling up the item wheel?

for some reason, I can't go past the milk molar; it's like the character got stuck and I tried everything. there was even a red soldier ant that was guarding the area, but I killed it, still can't go past the molar and don't have a weapon to crush it

I have been following this video, I have now used 4 bombs on this bloody door, If I throw it it bounces off, If I drop it it bounces through and there is no explosion. What am I doing wrong?
