On the western side of the Caribbean island of Curaçao, lies the Knip Plantation. The mansion, called “Landhuis Knip” is the location where the large slave revolt started in 1795. About 1 kilometer South lies Curaçao’s most famous beach: Grote Knip (Playa Kenepa Grandi). The ocean water is so clear and blue, it is one of the most photographed in the Caribbean.
