Grooves on the Router Table!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Since I already had my bit setup I decided to try out this method to cut the groove on the rails. I used @starbond to temporarily lock the rails together which made the cut safer.
I also used my @bowproducts stacked featherboards to make this cut really easy!

I think that is the most overbuilt feather board I've ever saw in my life 😂🤣

That featherboard is fantastic actually. It's a feather pro.

Didnt need that second board at all. I route grooves like this all the time.

You’re taking off way too much at once, shallower passes and cleaner cuts

Total waste of time and materials to glue two pieces together. Just run it by itself. Or get a slot cutter bit and run it flat. I just made 47 shaker doors with full tongue and groove joints using only a slot cutter bit.

Second board was totally unnecessary but if it just tickles your fancy, there’s a loony invention called “double-sided tape”

Double sided tape isn't nearly as easy to come off as painters tape

This would have been far more impressive if you hadn't tried to do it on one pass, and then had tear out at the end.

All that work, then put your hands in the line of fire.

Don’t lose your fingers! Hand too close to bit.

A hand held router will do a better job
