During my wedding, I would wear my white bow tie morning suit and evening suit with a black top hat while everyone else wears a tuxedo (black bow tie) without a top hat.

yes Centurion!!! it is....its known as a graphic art...real shirt is way differrent!

I wish i had seen this earlier to show my friend so we didnt have waste 300 bucks a piece to rent these awful looking tuxedos.

How did it go

Hopefully you can help. I am Planning on wearing a traditional stroller/stresseman/black lounge outfit for my wedding. I am purchasing the suits for the groomsmen but I am planning on a normal 3piece suit so they can wear it for different occasions in future. What colour do you think would be best for these suits? Thank you, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I'd always go for navy or charcoal, very traditional and versatile. But whatever you go with, make sure the rest of the guests aren't wearing it

What did you think about wearing an ascot to a wedding

atcarter75 if you mean an ascot, like a scarf worn inside the collar then its a no. that type of ascot is not suitable for weddings that have formality. if you mean an ascot worn around a wing collar, in morning coats then sure, its a very elegant and formal as long as the wedding is in the morning (or around 12-16) then you are good.

My wedding is next year. We are doing grey and purple. Was going to get the groomsmen purple vests and ties. After watching this though it seems like I should just make sure that they have matching ties, a grey suit and a white shirt. I'm a little confused because at time 4:24 he mentions a good item to give the groomsmen is a vest, but then at time 5:24 (one minute later) he states not to have groomsmen wear matching sets. This confuses me. Are matching ties and vests good or no? Only matching vests and everyone has a different tie in the same colors but different pattern?? Can anyone help clarify this?

Hey have you had your wedding yet? I’m getting married July 2022 and have the same colour scheme… Grey suits, purple ties… too match the bridesmaids. Are you / did you have a contrasting waistcoat? I’m thinking Mid grey-charcoal suit with a dove grey waistcoat

If the suit is green, try a blue or maybe red tie, also quite easy to coordinate with a buttonhole and pocket square. Or else try a silver tie, white pocket square and pink buttonhole? If the suit isn't green, then the tie, should be bottle green. I'd suggest an olive pocket square and a pale green buttonhole; it's good to keep them in the same colour family, but matching them too closely is quite naff in my opinion.

The only problem would be that this may look too similar to your shirt (assuming it's white). I'd suggest to wear a silver tie with subtle black patterns as Raphael wears in the video. But at the same time, it also depends on what color your suit or tux would be. Hope this helps!

Christopher, I believe it is appropriate for the groom to wear white tie when the groomsmen/guests wear black tie (Maybe guests black tie optional), as the groom should stand out, and be a notch above everyone else. Sven did exactly that for his wedding.

Don't give the groomsmen a pocket square as the thing they have to wear and as their grooms gift. Theyll think youre cheap and dont really care. especially if the grooms gift is like a novelty knife, or a set of cuff links
