And here I thought the big news about the cruise is that I’M COMING 🤣🤣. And I am so excited to be spending my 65th birthday with all of you 💃🥰
I was so lucky to be driving from Galway to the Aran Islands years ago (my husband is a Dub). There were small painted signs along the way that said “hand knit sweaters.” We’d drive down a smaller road to a small cottage and go in to purchase beautiful Irish woolen hand knits. Back when “Cottage Industry” really was people knitting and selling out of their cottages. My husband was a fireman in Dublin and tells of a co-worker whose family had an Irish knit sweater business - like so many, he knew the traditional cable patterns by heart and would knit Irish sweaters when the station was quiet. I’m so glad you got to Power’s Court to This Is Knit. What a gorgeous spot and terrific yarn store.
Katie Green Bean does all her own drawings for her tea towels, washi tape, stamps, Zines - she is amazing and has a lovely podcast.

Yes, she does have a lovely podcast!
Cruising is not in my budget so I will look forward to living vicariously online with you all.
Thanks for telling us about your trip. My best friend and I were with a group of knitters in Northern Ireland for a week . We went a week early and spent our time in Dublin and the surrounding area. We loved it and you are so right everyone was very friendly. " I will walk with you it is just up the hill and then left"
Loved hearing all your trip details. So glad you had a terrific trip. I loved Ireland 🇮🇪 so ready to go back ❤
Realised this morning that I’d only watched the first 45 mins of this episode! I’ve had a lovely morning listening to you talk all about your trip while I knit and drink coffee. Your trip sounds amazing! And is something I could actually do as I live in England. Thanks for highlighting the fantastic yarns etc xx
i live south of boston grew up in portland,…spent much time in canada. You may get leaves changing in canada too early in sept for portland & boston
My daughter and husband are moving to Dublin for 2 years, so there is no question where i will go to visit and stay.
Was in Ireland four years ago, and it was the best vacation of my life. We felt so welcomed by everyone and safe wherever we went. I recommend it to everyone.
Girls, I love your 'Podcast' and what a pleasure it was for me to escort the F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. 'Grocery Girls' and their entourage around the 'Emerald Isle'...come back soon! ❤
Fleece and Harmony in PEI?.. the best! Opulent Alpaca in Cape Breton!, NS...❤
The Spacetime is a very flattering fit on you! You sold me on the pattern. Thanks
Very nice to see the Aran ribbing. I have been twisting my stitches every 2nd round for years. It makes a nice even fabric.
I loved hearing about your travels in Ireland. It brought back wonderful memories from my 2018 trip. Listening to the two of you chat is like visiting with friends. 😊
Vincent is a phenomenal teacher, I have been so blessed to have taken his classes virtually and in person. And he is such a big cuddly teddy bear ❤❤❤
I just love Ireland. I’ve been there a few times. I bought many sweaters knit by lovely Irish knitters. I bought several from home businesses on the back roads. these sweaters are over 20 years old and are like new. I do take great care of them. These knits last for years.
I'm literally on the edge of my seat this whole podcast- tell me more! I have to get to Ireland. You lucky ducks. Thanks for sharing all that you did and the joy you had there. We feel it!! Love the Galway intel as well - it's important to keep these traditions alive!!
That 🇮🇪 trip sounds like a dream!! So much inspiration in this episode!!
Fall colors maybe MAINE, Boston will still be warm ! Bring summer wear too!
yaaaay!!! My girls are back!
I love Dina & Pam! watch them all the time! And I go to the shop! They are the best!
Heading to Ireland with my daughter in May!
Loved your podcast.. too many things to say, but do you think you could make a rainbow mini set that matches your little sweater? I know you have some rainbows, but I like the softness and the pop of the cold you picked. really want to make one for my two year old granddaughter.
Holy smokes!! I didn’t have to turn up my volume 50 decimals to hear y’all! Thank you KZread! Love you two sistas! You are sooo entertaining 💗💕🇮🇪🧶🐑
I’m Irish but haven’t been to Ireland. It’s on my bucket list, your information gave me so many things to add to my eventual itinerary. Your sweaters are lovely, and I’m thinking I will add “Spacetime” to my shortlist of sweaters to make soon. 😊 Love you ladies
Thanks so much for talking about Irish wool that was so cool to learn about.
What a fantastic episode. So sorry I missed the live. Glad you had a great time. 😊
I knit the Stalk and Pip beret with Nua worsted in the sea grass colourway and it turned out lovely. It was a beautiful yarn to knit with.
You girls look beautiful! Thanks for sharing highlights of your trip.
Tracy. If you want Irish butter, look for kerrygold( in the US it is at Costco)
You could make a little lavender bag with the lace. Sew a plain matching color back and tie with ribbon. I got one already made as a gift and it’s really nice.
Welcome back! Loved enjoying Ireland thru your eyes. Tell us more! Please! You were missed🧶
Galway is such a pretty town! One of my favorite places! I saw the biggest raindrops I’ve ever seen in my life in Galway!😂
So glad you are back! Sure you had a great trip and can’t wait to hear!
I highly recommend also making your way to the north coast of Ireland if you get the chance to go again. Northern Ireland has stunning scenery and the people are also super friendly and will give you a warm welcome.
I am going on that exact East Coast cruise on May 4th. Sorry to miss your knitting cruise, but I am still so excited.
Great episode! So much sharing!
Love and hearing about the tour. I think you should come to the west coast of Canada and the US. Vancouver island?? Seattle?? Lamb & Kid??? Come do a cruise here !!
Regarding knitted Tees. You should check out Rebecca Clows Tolsta Tee. You will be incredibly impressed with the pattern.
Your trip to Ireland sounds fantastic. I love Emma’s podcast. Her commitment to natural dying and Irish yarn is amazing. I cannot wait to see where you go on your East Coast knitting curse. I live right near Boston and am wondering if you guys would do a meet-up?
I loved my trips to Ireland. Beautiful country and people are so friendly.
Aw Man!,, I missed my girls' live! So been looking forwards to hearing about your holidays!❤❤❤

It was so good to see you both after so long. Tracie, your sweater is gorgeous! That pattern is definitely in my queue. I LOVED hearing about your trip to Ireland!! I am going on a UK cruise starting in London the end of August. Unfortunately, we will be in Dublin on a Monday, and This is Knit is closed that day. :( However, I will be researching other shops and hope to bring home some yarn souvenirs!
Tracy, quick question I love your sweater. Could you tell me again who/what is the pattern and would you suggest this for a beginner.? The red is just beautiful. I’m I’m jealous. I am such a want to be knitter.
I missed you however, glad you had a blast in Ireland
I enjoyed watching this podcast…love your dress and cardigan❣️ is there some design of a different color yarn on your right sleeve? Your daughter’s crochet items were darling!!
❤Ireland. I went in 2016 with my sister- so fun!
Glad you had a fantastic trip😊😊😎
"The Perfect Storm" reference LOL 😂😂
I have good news and bad news…the bad news is that the leaves in NS won’t be giving you a show at that time. They peak in mid-October, September is still pretty warm. The good news is that Tracy’s Rolling Yarn Shop will most likely be parked on the dock.

The combo of a dock and yarn sounds divine! (As a west coast mum with young kids I won’t be on the tour but I love that this exists.)
I love Dina and Pam to. Such good friends.
PEI & NS but no NB? You’ll be missing a beautiful port with so much history & amazing yarn shops😔 ahhh maybe next time
Jodi is right! That color is amazing on you tracey
Did you write down the tour name you took on these knit shops in show notes. I want to go to lreland sometime and would like to go on the tour you took.
I have some yarn for Spacetime in Sport. It calls for DK but I guess you got gauge changing needle size. I love it on you and the color is great. Great pattern.
Did a Ireland knitting tour 2018. Loved it.
I would love to see a grocery girls WIP parade, no judgement I just think it would be a fun video!
Awww. Your beautiful silver hairrrr😢
OHHHHHH loved seeing all the Ireland Things, I have a trip planned for this September to Ireland and I am so excited. Now I have more places and things to check out.

❤❤❤❤❤❤🤗😘👍
Powerscourt townhouse yes, was their city residence years ago.
Knitting portions are good but the pushing of all the personal care products is a turn off and actually sad.stick to knitting not being a sales person for products to punch on women…
