For the price point, and the main intended use, it looks like a win. Huge bonus for people looking on a budget too.

Mike, that is a great deal, I want in. I didn't see the $200 price, but it was with in 20% of that. Also, I am impressed with how quite your shop vac is. I think I have the same shop vac and mine dominates the airwaves. As always, very well done demo. Thanks.

Hey Meat! I think this one’s great for the price. That shop vac is super loud. I cut the volume for the vac and all the saw scenes otherwise you guys would turn me off for sure! Thanks for watching!

They sell hex head set screws on Amazon in sets. I got some a few years ago for something else, and was surprised at the quality heat treatment on them. I have never damaged any of the ones from that set, but some of my original set screws that came installed in items were likely not heat treated at all; I had them round the socket when applying moderate force.

If I was keeping this as my only track saw I would probably do the same as those flat heads are already showing wear from the demo. Thanks for watching!

You can't beat the price for this tool. A big plus is 9 ft of track plus clamps, the bigger names will require you to pay more for such a set up.

Very nice job on the review. Seems like a great saw for the $ but that's a LOT of dust compared to the "most popular" brand.

  • @ProjectsForAllReviews

Thanks Andy and I agree the dust probably was worthy of another mention at the end. It looks worse in the video than I noticed while doing the cuts probably because of the studio lights. We just moved to this new shop and haven’t started upgrading the lights and electric yet so the camera lights are cranked up. Thanks for watching!

Looks like a good value. If I remember, the Wen had some slop even when clamped to the track (especially when doing 45 degree cuts.) How does the Grizzly compare? Also, if you throw a chunk of tape over the arbor access hole, does that improve the dust collection?

Great vid. How did it do on bevels cuts. Did it have similar flex to the Wen you reviewed?

I knew I was forgetting something Felicity! I checked it before I started filming and it has less flex than the Wen but still a little. I think it’s just the way the pivot points are designed on this style saw. Thanks for watching!

Was going to get the grizzly at first $229 till I starting thinking I work with a lot of slab wood 2"+ and with the grizzly only being 6.1/4" and could not cut a 2" deep cut out of it, I'm not a pro so I only use a track saw a few times a year,,DIY,,, and not willing to spend the money for a festool or even a dewalt so I went with the WEN 7.1/4" more amps ,deeper cuts, is it cheap (yes) does it work (yes) did I save money (yes) am I happy with it ,,so far (yes)

It really surprises me that track saws are made "left handed." I AM (very) left handed and learned to use a saw in my right hand - looking at the blade (like a worm drive). I prefer that. I can cut with my left hand, no problem, but I know 90% of people are right handed. It seems to me that right handers would like to use their dominante hand when using a power tool. I use the Kreg Accu-Cut Track system. Works well enough, but am always looking at real track saws.

Actually, most track saws, including this one, are made right handed. The only one I know of that's left handed is the Kreg. Almost all corded 7-1/4 inch sidewinder circ saws are also right handed, and left handers are hard to find. The Bosch CS5 and Skilsaw SPT67M8-01 are the only ones currently available I know of from major brands. Milwaukee had the 6391-2, but I think it's discontinued. Oddly enough worm drives are all left handed, AFAIK. In cordless most 7-1/4 saws are right handed, and most 6-1/2 saws are left. All 4-1/2 inch corded and cordless circ saws I know of are left handed. As a right handed individual, I far prefer left handed saws. Line of sight to the blade is greatly improved, which is how I follow a cut line. The Bosch CS5 is my primary saw. Unfortunately, being an odd ball saw it rarely goes on sale. The right handed CS10, which is the exact same saw except for the blade orientation, is always on sale for $50 less.

It sounds like one I may buy one day soon, but I have to ask, was it a perfectly square 90° cut?

Mine cut square out of the box but the bevel pointer was set off a degree just like my Milwaukee track saw review. I’m still pretty impressed for $230. Thanks for watching Griffin!

I would say the Wen is better. Wen has a more powerful motor 10 amp vs Grizzly 8 amp. Wen has the standard 61/2 inch blade, Grizzly uses an oddball 61/4 blade with few options for replacement blades. Grizzly lacks the plunge lock to change the blade, Wen has that. Wen has a preset for scoring plywood, Grizzly doesn't. The only thing the Grizzly has over the Wen is the riving knife.

Might be because I drop the volume 20db during the scenes where the saw or vacuum is on. Nobody likes when a vid gets crazy loud all of a sudden. I didn’t experience any struggling even in the oak cuts but I did take my time with that cut to try and get the best result. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching David!
