This song has always meant a lot to me. Right after new moon came out, my father died of alcohol abuse. The last thing I remember of him is his viewing with this song playing. 12 years later and i still feel the same gut wrench I felt that day. RIP dad.🕊

Twilight will always have a special place in my heart for my aunt. She passed not to long before the saga came out, i remember we planned on going to see it, she was so excited to see it. I remember me and her would always get all happy talking about edward and how cute he was and all thay stuff, i just wish she could have seen them all before she passed, and hearing this song just kinda breaks my heart cause it sounds so sad yet good. When I saw this comment I cried. I understand how you feel. My Grandma passed on my 7th birthday. After all that I sorta gave up in a way. I've also been having a hard time trying to get over the fact my crush doesn't like me and I'll have to move on. I try to talk about with my friends but they take it as a funny way. I guess I'll just have to put up with it. We all go someday‚ and my Grandma couldn't stop that day from coming. She even warned my Mom that she wasn't gonna see me the next day! I was forced to stay in my Step dad's car and watch her die. I saw my Mom run to the ambulance where my Grandma was. Both me and my Step dad were watching. At night‚ I STILL see my Grandma laying there‚ thinking that she didn't leave me. Especially not on my birthday.

Just re-watched New Moon after about a decade and was _shocked_ by how good the soundtrack is. Even more shocked that none other than one of my absolute musical heroes Victoria Legrand from Beach House was featured by Grizzly Bear, another band I really like, on it. This soundtrack is a timeless alt/indie goldmine.

The concoction of emotions this song triggers in me is so difficult to accurately describe. It’s relief, peace, depression, nostalgia, euphoria, loss, happiness rolled into one. I can’t seem to find one word for it. Leading up to the chorus it’s melancholic, but the chorus itself feels like breaking free of something & finally experiencing true peace. Almost like something has been really difficult, but it works out for the best in the end. I often visualise being really happy & at peace and so relieved I got there. Or, achieving something & then reminiscing about how hard it was to achieve it. Or, even being reunited with someone you love. The feeling of being happy/sad at the same time; smiling & crying at the same time. It almost feels like experiencing the end of an era… you’re moving on to bigger and better things, but you’re going to miss parts of the life you left behind. It feels like so many things basically, sry for the essay

Omg, yes, that’s what I get from it. It’s like being in a terrible place and then finally being in a better place & maybe looking back on your life & almost feeling sad/happy at the same time because you’re at peace finally, but you’re remembering the times you thought you’d never achieve it.

This is my second time listening to this song and I just closed my eyes and I could feel my heart beat in slow motion and I just felt so peaceful despite the chaos that surrounds me.

a friend passed away recently and this song keeps making me cry over and over but i cant stop listening.

It makes me remember how messed up I was, by only a certain people, including myself. It felt like self betrayal and sabotage. I made myself the person I am today. It does seem like a dark place, within a reachable distance. Seems like a dreamtime when everything was a mess. If i look back, i can still see but its in a dream like state. Its actually pretty Mesmerizing to look back and know i made it thru. Knowing im not in a dark lonely crazy place. Osss

my boyfriend and i had been fighting, not wanting to talk to each other. one day towards the end of this fight, he was sitting in his room and we were talking about wanting to paint something together to try and relieve the tension and get back into the swing of things. i said to him, "hey, you know grizzlybear and victoria legrand have a song together?'" and he looked at me surprised. i told him to put it on, so he said, "hey google, play slow life." we sat there for a minute in silence listening because neither of us had heard the full song yet. it was such a nice moment, like everything we had been fighting about didn't matter anymore. i'll always remember this song as forgiveness and hope.

Man I saw every twilight movie in high school just because of the girl I was dating at the time. And I have to say I'm glad I did only because of the Soundtracks. Going strong in 2023 💪🏽 movies didn't age well though lol.
