    When you hear something like “this animal’s sense of smell is 4/5/.. times stronger than ours” you can’t really picture it. Well, they can SMELL THE EXACT LOCATION OF CLAMS UNDER THE SAND. Wow. And that area must be filled with all sorts of smells from the tide and animals, but they can identify and isolate that one from that one clamp. Amazing.

    Clamps are pretty smelly. One time my 6yr old sister brought back clamps she found in cape cod on a three-hour drive back home. Good thing there weren't any grizzlies within a 200-mile radius...

    Well I don't think a bear would eat a person but they're super territorial. It's likely they'll kill you if you're in their territory especially if they think your presence is a threat to their cubs.

    Noah Baldiviezo I know, they’re all dangerous. Grizzlies just tend to be the most aggressive whereas pandas can be passive and black bears will usually run.

    The most powerful terrestrial predator is their cousin the kodiac bear. Healthy polar bears and salt water crocodiles are far more powerful then either of these but those are semiaquatic

    @@jtn_16 No they're not. Hippos [4000 lbs] are stronger then African crocodiles [1200lbs], they are also a little stronger then salt water crocodiles [2,200lbs] but no hippo in history was stronger the south American crocodilian purussaurus [10,300lbs].

    These are the bears that Timothy Treadwell hung out with for 13 summers before one of them ate him and his girlfriend alive in 2003- captured in the documentary Grizzly man. Treadwell did not respect the wild nature of these bears, he thought they were his friends and he had a special connection. Sadly his delusions got someone else killed alongside him. Ketmai Park rangers shot at least 2 bears and found the partially digested remains of both victims in their stomachs.

    Theres a great book called “The bear hunter” by james mccafferty. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Very interesting. Its on amazon i think
