Amazing! I've had the absolute pleasure of seeing and hearing the first 3 movements live and wish I could be here for all 6!

Lots of mimimi and artistic intolerance in this comment section. Nobody is forced to see the concerts, and the names of the pieces and composers are known to potential recipients beforehand. Im not discouraging anyone from saying why he doesnt like it, but its nonsense to say that everybody wouldnt or couldnt potentially like it.

A phenomenal performance of one of the great masterpieces of the late 20th Century - bravo and thank you so much! 👏 I was lucky enough to attend the UK premiere in London and this is just as enthralling. Is it too much to hope it'll be issued commercially? Maybe in 5.1... 😁

If a migraine headache could be turned into musical notes, this is what it would sound like. This is Scabble music. Write a musical note on each brick, throw them up into the air, and where they fall, play the notes in that order!

@@noisemaker0129 Do you go to Swedish thrash-metal concerts? No??? Yo bruh… So closed-minded. And at least those have some form of musical structure. This faux-edgy genre is so overdone at this point. But, I have a hard time taking those seriously who claim to really like this enough to genuinely “defend” it. Do you really like it? Or are you really just astroturfing?

Not a piece of music to fall in love with right away, especially since it opens with - for me - very off-putting viola playing. It gets better though once the orchestra gets going..

If you listen carefully, you can already recognize overtone spectra in the viola's prologue, which are unfolded and tip back into the inharmonic and noisy. Such spectra also play a role in the other pieces.

In diesem Stück werden Techniken aus der Computermusik auf das Orchester übertragen. Man findet Differenztöne, Ringmodulation, Klangsynthese, inharmonische Spektren. In diesem Sinne ist es ein Pionierwerk.
