Another fine performance from the FRSO! It's always a joy to listen to them and I always look forward to new ones posted on KZread!

At 2:18, the great alluvial sound of Central Europe's spiritual and intellectual landscape ~ Brahms was the keeper of that sound, and he made sure a river ran through it. Those great waters, the Danube and the Rhine, flowing through European history just like the human generative impulse flowed deep through this master of the human temporal lobe.

I find this wonderful symphony a little bit similar to Beethovens 6:th symphony. A sort of joyful and friendly feeling. Thank you for great playing!

The FR Symphony orchestra is immensely indeed almost disturbingly talented! Brilliant blend of technical excellence yet deeply human musicianship. In fact eminently suited to just those same characteristics so deliciously present in Brahms genius-psyche and creative pen. This is the first substantial composition of Brahms that my various (often exasperated) music teachers suggested I should study in depth. Pity I'm so easily distracted, I rarely get beyond the tenth page of the 1st movement in our edition. There is something very special and intriguing about JB. This intertwining of dazzling formalism and a heart-stopping tear-inducing melodic fountain, and a firm yet generous grasp upon the widest and deepest feelings and philosophical profundity.. Not a bad orchestrator either, and stunning contrapuntalist and harmonist. It is as if her-his brilliance allowed her-his creative psyche to sit at a cross roads between Bach, Wagner, Dvorak, and Schoenberg. A many sided person, with an inspiring blend of feminine and masculine virtues, but very decidedly on the womanly end of the spectrum. That why I like the nickname Joanna Brahms. 💕👩‍🎓 Love andrea.

Wunderschöne und lebhafte Aufführung dieser perfekt komponierten Sinfonie mit seidigen Tönen der Streicher, farbenreichen Tönen der Holzbläser und majestätischen Tönen der Blechbläser und des Schlagwerks. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders mild und auch tröstend. Im Kontrast klingt der dritte Satz besonders graziös und auch spielerisch. Der intelligente Maestro leitet das erfahrene hr-Sinfonieorchester im gut phrasierten Tempo und mit künstlerischer Dynamik. Wahrlich wunderbar!

Geza Anda fue un gran pianista húngaro. No creo que haya dirigido esta sinfonía. Probable confusión con el 2do concierto para piano y orquesta.

¡Qué emoción siento al escuchar esta maravillosa interpretación de esta pastoril sinfonía de Johannes Brahms. Vivida, con unos viento metales gloriosos, unas cuerdas sedosas y consistentes, en fin... con una orquesta de primer orden y un director excepcional. Bravo 👏👏👏🔥

Wunderschöne Aufführung dieser spätromantischen und perfekt komponierten Sinfonie, die die helle Seite von Brahms repräsentiert, mit gut harmonisierten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und echt beruhigend. Im Kontrast klingt der letzte Satz echt lebhaft und auch begeisternd. Der intelligente und geniale französische Dirigent leitet das ausgezeichnete deutsche Orchester im gut analysierten Tempo und mit möglichst effektiver Dynamik. Wahrhaft hörenswert!
