    The best part about Pog is also what can get him in trouble. He's aggressive, but I hope he takes some tips from Jonas in the coming days and only works when absolutely necessary. Jonas is a beast at tactics and all the energy he's been refusing to spend is coming in clutch as Pog looks more and more tired. Seeing him lose that sprint was crazy.

  • @danmc7815

    @danmc7815

    That Sprint was one of the few that favors the rider leading when it starts. Vingegaard was impressive, but I do not think Pogacar looks tired. Really, I like Pogacar, Vingegaard, and Roglic a lot. Evanepoel not as much, mostly because of what he says about his competition. They all seem like both great competitors and decent guys. No idea who I really want to win, probably Roglic as his opportunities are dwindling. But, so are his chances for this year. Close for 21 stages is all I really want,.a good show!

    No Doubt. Pog is an Alpha² His mindset is the fastest strongest need to dominate, no matter what. I think another season or two and he'll get it. Jonas understands . It's individual, but you need a team to maximize efficiency. Learning to be efficient at that level must be tough because they are so used to powering through

    The first time Jonas won was because Pog was stupid, he blew everything trying to be Superman in a single stage, yes, it´s exciting to watch but it´s also like trying to start a marathon by sprinting. The day Pog learns to ride the tour as a marathon, that´s when he will win. Perhaps this year if today´s performance teaches him anything.

    Classy handshake from Pogi, nice. Jonas Vingegaard apparently had some wisdom in his sticking to team tactics all this while, saving his energy. I hope he hangs on to win especially after his brutal crash three months earlier. Pogi may have spent more than his allotted share of energy overall, but he still has gas in the tank enough to stay up in the time needed to have zero deficit from Jonas. My question is Jonas smart enough to know what's needed to take the lead and stretch it out. Does he have the energy needed to beat Pogacar flat out at race finish time. ...Exciting finish.

I'm generally team Pog but I love an underdog story and a comeback as well--so kind of happy to see Jonas pip Pog on the line like that... leaving every big of energy and effort out on the course. Congrats to him for the win and to Pog for staying in yellow. Sad to see Remco crash yet again... (and then again in the following stage (12). But that's cycling.

    Pog is an incredible strong and punchy all-rounder, the best in the world. But he is very muscular for a tdf contender. Shoulders, arms, thighs. And his explosive style will bite him on the big big stages. Jonas can just go deeper than any other rider I've ever seen. He is the best bike-rider I've seen in 30 years of watching pro racing. An other-worldly talent. Looking as lean as you can possibly get. And then he recovers like an actual mutant. He will win the tour with a large margin. Again. Again. And then probably again and again.

    Looks like this year Pogi's tactic is to attack on the second to last mountain near the top, in a srpint up, using his explosiveness to create a gap with Jonas, and then use the descend to widen that gap even more, and hope it will be enough to not lose enough time to keep Jonas behind him in the standings at the end of the tour. Did not work as well with this stage, as the climbs weren't as long, thus also that d4escend was over much faster, maybe on a later stage he can do the same, and then create a much larger gap on one of those 20+km descends.

Yes, maybe there's a morale (?) issue with Jonas winning the stage, but Pogy increased his lead over Remco, and only lost a second on his lead over Jonas. Stay tuned 👍

    Pogi knows whats up; JV is far stronger than him in the third week, so he tried to get as much time on JV before then. He should have used his entire team up before his attack. You'll probably see JV take some time on Pogi sat + sun and next week he'll destroy Pogi completely and finish off big time on mountain TT on the last stage. JV will win TdF 24 with at least 5 min margin to Tadej. The giro win could pull TP even further behind. In the 3 week GT's there is only one king these days; Jonas Vingegaard ! Enjoy his reign !

    I have a feeling pog knows Jonas is back and fit. So he'll drop trying to drop him and start riding tactically and protecting his lead. The worry is the TT where Pog lost many minutes to Jonas last year

    @@petedog9581Jonas did no recon at all on the first TT as it did not fit him, the last TT is a completely different story. It must be pretty clear by now that while Pogacar has been trying to win minutes here in the first half of the race, Jonas is planning to go fast (as last 2 years) in the last half. So Vismas plan have worked, tricking UAE into beleiving they could crack Jonas is the first part of the race. I suspect he has been on form all along, today he showed what is coming. Its still open, but UAE must be worried after today, interesting racing ahead!
