Well it actually works, but on a specific brand of hard drive, I tried this on a Seagate Hard drive, it doesn't spin without the arm. Better find a WD hard drive if you want to do this project.

connect pin 3 and 5 together of the data connector of your sata drive

Works on Seagate Barracuda 7200 12 with data pin 3 shorted to 5. Still trying to get answer for IDE HDD to be able to spin continously. Any solution yet?🤔
How can I always spin an IDE hard drive? Can I connect some pins like sata pins 2-6? Thank you!

Hi, is a bit confusing on the wiring, do you have a wiring diagram and do you still need the HDD PCB board?

You have to supply 2 seperate volts in pcb (red + black = 5 volts and yellow + black =12 v)

strange... the title of the video does not say that you will have to listen to very cheesy and very loud sounds.
It begs the question, if one requires a grinding machine to make a grinding machine, why not just use your original grinding machine to grind whatever you are going grind with your new grinding machine?

i did the same steps but when i tried to power it up through ic the motor doesnt rotate and spark comes from both terminals(I have not soldered the adapter wires i connect them using my hand by touching the wires)
I couldn't figure out how the connections were made.
