I love other Vanillaware games, and part of that is due to the easy control schemes, so I can pick up the game and enjoy the art style. Your review made it clear that this isn’t the game for me, and I appreciate you so much for taking the time to review this in such great detail!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. It's very much the anti-Vanillaware game, in my book, so I felt the need to really represent that in this video. I certainly went into it with the hopes that it'd be very easy to pick up and play, so I was surprised that it wasn't at all.

I love Vanillaware and Muramasa, Odin Sphere and Dragons Crown were my cup of tea. 13 sentinels had not that gameplay impact to me, it was more Story focused. Now we have this and im on the fence, but SRTS isnt my main genre. I wish they had instead remade/remastered muramasa or Odins Sphere on switch. On the other hand it is Vanillaware and they dont disappoint. Even 13 Sentinels was a very good game for me...

I'm not a massive RTS fan, but idk maybe my tastes have changed because I was not able to put this game down. In just a few days I invested over 20 hours into the game completing all of the trail missions and even playing the Hell difficulty setting. The story was great and the challenge on Hard mode is near perfect for me. The biggest problem that I have with the game is the controls. I feel like the best that could be done was done with a controller, but I feel like a PC port with properly altered and optimized controls for a keyboard and mouse could change the gameplay in this game from functional, to downright amazing.

Very good and fair assessment towards this game. I really really enjoyed this game but I had so many complaints and qol wishes since I already played RTS like wc3, sc1 and red alert. I honestly want them to make a sequel and them actually put it on PC instead of consoles.

I'm not an RTS player at all, so I'd be coming into this with the extent of my experience being Yu-Gi-Oh Falsebound Kingdom. I do wonder if some of the features from other RTS that aren't present here wouldn't really be noticable to me or other players with similar levels of experience. There's a certain captivating magic about this game's presentation, it's definitely something I'm itching to play

Played the original on the ps2 as a child and the level scaling is DIFFICULT when trying to complete 100% with highest difficulty, no spoilers, but this one level where you are to survive against two enemy of two different factions for 30 mins is one of the hardest levels to complete. One thing I do enjoy is that the abilities can be upgraded via a skill tree and that when summoning a familiar the highest number to summon in a rune is 10 compared to 5 in the ps2 (which would require extra multitasking to go back to the rune to pump up more familiars for pressure)

I'll be sure to give this ago, I've really got into strategy games lately. Just completed FE Engage recently, and i love the whole min-maxing gameplay. I do understand this is probably is hard to get into, as these type of games are usually a slow start, but usually by the midgame you usually have a blast. This game I can only assume this game didn't have the biggest budget.

Must say, even though Real Time Strategies are not my thing, I have to try it as it is something that Vanillaware made. After Aegis Rim (which I platinum'd), Dragons Crown Pro & Odinspehere Leifthrasir, I have to at least give it a shot as Vanillaware has a unique artstyle that none can match and with some engaging stories, like in 13 sentinels, they are sure one of a kind devs. Also, I think you should maybe make a video explaining the whole story of 13 sentinels if possible as the story was disorienting and a bit confusing at time. Would really enjoy it!!!

Pretty recently I played odin sphere, and I felt let down by the plot in general, being themed as a book, I felt that it skimmed through each story, and I really feel it could have used the set up of the story being a book to expand more on the characters are setting, but outside of that the combat was amazing, and not to mention the art direction, music was great too but the victory jingle does interrupt some great songs, really wish it got a steam release, played it on my vita
