I would argue the opposite. I feel like celebs recognized by first/one name only are usually very well known (but I’m probably wrong as there may be many lesser known celebs with one name as their stage name). Ex. Drake, Madonna, Cher, Beyoncé, Shakira, Griffin... now that’s a power move. Not just any Griffin; this is world famous littlest brother: Griffin.
