Grid Down Information Archive & Network (Wikipedia, Project Gutenberg)
Ғылым және технология
We depend on digital information. We assume it will always be there, even though its supplied by services owned by large corporations and easily restricted by the world governments. Tonight I show you how to archive vast pieces of information and to serve it over ad hoc wireless networks using 12 volt and Power Distribution battery systems.

I am a network engineer and this is starting to reach into the self hosting / data hording community aspects which I am all about. More people should understand how networks actually work and how routing works. I have built out my own home network and having physical devices for each function that is normally handled as an all in one unit in the interest of not only separation of duties but also ease of replacement / upgrades / expansion. If you ever want to deep dive self sufficiency on your home network and your data I'd happily join as a guest for your show to go over some of the basics / fundamentals to help demystify what is going on and help folks build out their own things.
I speak for most. This is an invaluable repository of how to get off the grid with knowledge. Thanks Josh!

Thank you!
Thanks for showing a little bit about WROLPi! I am happy to answer any questions anyone has about the project. FYI, the difference between the Server and Desktop images is that the Server version is terminal only. The Desktop version is a full desktop, including browser, Libreoffice, etc.

Thanks for all the great content! Curious on Why you wouldn't just make a few of the memory cards and put them in a laptop whenever needed. Seems like a lot of extra work to share files if it was truly a grid down scenario or camping.

I think I covered that in the beginning. Sure, make all the copies you want. But if you wanted/needed to share, that’s the topic of the video.
Thanks Josh! I would love to see a video about integrating AREDN.

How you are enjoy this setup? I just got my KAC 22" setup and waiting on thr PRG approval. Still debating on a 4-16 of 5-25 glass.
Great video, Josh. Are you able to access the usb drive through the personal wifi router using just an iPhone or does it require the use of a PC/netbook?

Yes, you can with Android as well.
Can you use a Grid Dip meter to measure how far the Grid goes Down? ;)
Great video! What’s the name of the red pd power converter?

It’s from Tufteln. Link in description.
What are your sources and subject matter of the PDF files. Hard to determine accuracy and out dated material. Thanks!!

@@HamRadioCrashCourse Could you provide the link to the Zim files, I am not seeing it in the description.
Hi Josh, When you show the ZIM files, are they your local files or are they for one of the collections you list in the comments? I was confused where they were. Also, have you heard of sharebox? It's a replacement for piratebox kzread.info/dash/bejne/ap9_2c2opLWsebA.html 73 KB2SDR
Just here to visit the video views. You, too?
