There’s few young songwriters around today at his level, what a talent

there's a desire for independance and self reliance above all else in Grian's writing that I find quite fascinating. Incidentally, I met him briefly in Seattle when I spent a year abroad in Oregon. he's probably the most interesting writer in music today. Grian and Fontaines are refreshing and unique.

yes! one of Grian’s unique talents is taking these very human experiences that can at once feel both isolating *and* universal; devastating *and* mundane, then crystallising them into heart-fecking poetry that’s at times all of twelve words! it’s an art that reminds me of how some illustrators can create such expressive forms using only a few lines or brushstrokes. not to sound like a total weirdo (i’m about to sound like a total weirdo), but the man has a power that cannot be synthesised! it only makes sense that he’s named for the sun

Chaque album de Fontaines DC a été incroyable - de renouveau, de génie... Chacun merveilleusement réussi, mais tous bien différents.. Petit pincement au cœur lorsque j'ai vu que Grian chantait maintenant en solo.. mais, enthousiaste, j''écoute... et déception absolue... Les textes OK, sa voix, OK, mais fini cette originalité, cette puissance sans pareille des chansons de Fontaines DC, les 3 albums confondus... Les 3 chansons solo de Grian, ne marquent pas, n'apportent rien, elles se fondent juste dans la masse de ce qui exite déjà... Terriblement triste.

Fontaines DC est un groupe magnifique. Le groupe est forcé quoi qu'il arrive à faire une pause puisque le guitariste est nouvellement devenu papa, et le groupe soudé n'existe pas sans la somme de ces membres. De ce fait, je suis très content de recevoir malgré tout de la musique de l'un des membres en attendant que le groupe complet retrouve le chemin du studio. Je suis aussi content de découvrir une autre facette de Grian et qu'il n'essaie pas de reproduire seul le son du groupe (ce qui serait mal venu vis à vis du groupe et de lui-même en tant qu'artiste solo)

Je suis d'accord, ça aurait été pire si Grian s'était essayé à une pâle copie ou tentative de copie du style de Fontaines DC, certes, mais je les avais tellement mis sur un piédestal que je ne m'attendais pas à ce que ce soit si banal et à être si déçue par Grian en solo..mais ce n'est que mon ressenti..

Mais uma faixa impecável desse que pode ser um dos álbuns do ano. Repetindo o sucesso do excepcional Skinty Fia!
