I grew up on a lake, that had a family of grey foxes living there. Every evening one of the foxes came to our yard and would play with my cat. They loved chasing each other around the light pole in the backyard. They would chase each other and play for a couple of hours and then lie down under an evergreen bush and take a nap. It was a special friendship.

This is the second time I watched this, and this time I analysed Leo's body language. He isn't really scared, but unsure and a bit nervous, so he didn't want Nikita in his space. Too overwhelming. He was curious, though. I would predict that Nikita and Leo will get along fine if they have more time to get used to each other. There wasn't any "bad energy" between them, like if Nikita had chased Leo all over the place, which would've scared Leo. It was more like careful curiosity and openness. I'd love to see more from them together! Also, if something in my analysis is wrong, please point it out, and explaun why. I love to learn more about cat language.

Coyotes will kill and clear out all grey foxes when they move into a new territory; but only grey's, as reds are both bigger and more intelligent, so they have the sense to clear out ahead of time, so don't usually suffer that fate.

Aw, that was a cute moment when Leo and Nikita were nose to nose...then Leo swiped her. Poor little pointy nosed Nikita she is such a sweet heart ♥️

I’ve had foxes follow my dog and I for a mile or so as we hiked, in a completely friendly and curious way. It’s great!

That's the first time I've ever really seen Nikita that close to the camera. It was so adorable seeing her trying to make friends with Leo, it seems he's been THE BOSS since day 1 with the foxes. He was such a beautiful kitten.

Who else randomly found SaveAFox and has watched her ever since.

Foxes in the wild are nothing like domestic dogs, and are afraid of humans. It is a lengthy process gaining a fox's trust, unless you are natural with animals. They are indeed some of the most amazing animals on the planet.

@@Johnny-cz2wv Yes, they sure are. I have never seen a ragdoll in person. Just photos of them. I first heard of them when my Uncle visited from out of state years ago and told me he liked them. Oddly enough my Himalayan loves him though she's only seen him 3 times I think. I think ragdolls are also many different color types. My kitty doesn't have the little pushed nose like ragdolls but she has a short nose compared to regular cats. She looks mostly like a siamese but has long silky fur. I'm happy for you to have catkids. 😊 They are great companionship.

I live in the Hill Country of Texas north of San Antonio on ten acres. For the last three years I have the sweetest grey Fox, that shows up every April ( I know it’s the same one because of a small piece of her ear missing) . She comes for food so I feed her raw chicken, eggs ( she loves them hard boiled), and dry dog food. She is the sweetest thing and while I don’t touch her or feed her by hand, she comes just a few feet from me when I bring the food. Her nipples are always largely swollen when she first arrives, so we figured she has pups and needs the nutrition. She hangs out every day or every other day through about July 1st, then I don’t see her again until the next April. Totally cool because she returns to the wild. I have learned soo much about foxes because of her.

My grandparents have a gray fox that they think is living in their yard. My brother likes to watch it and even named her.

What a cute kitten. He's going to have a lot of fun with the foxes once he get to know them and trust! ☺️😍😍❤️❤️❤️

It's so fun to go back and see all your animals as babies! I love how you started so young with Leo, and that you knew exactly who to pick. Nikita does look like a cat and she is so sweet and patient with kitty! You did good, as always!
