Gretsch Guitars are perhaps most associated with the twangy, hollowbody instruments played by Duane Eddy and Eddie Cochran, although they also include the Jet range of solid body electric guitars.
Founded in Brooklyn in 1883 by German immigrant Friedrich Gretsch, the company originally made banjos, tambourines and drums before branching out into guitars. Highly sought after in the 1950s and '60s, the company lost favour in the '70s before a resurgence in the '90s. In 2002 Fender took over the marketing, production and distribution of the guitars, but the company is still owned by the Gretsch family.
The Electromatic range is a great place to start with these classic instruments, or if you're looking for something truly special then the Professional collection is sure to have something to catch your eye. Gretsch have recently introduced their Streamliner collection that offers versatile playability and modern features.
This video was produced in Gear4music's own studio facility at its headquarters in York.

Damon Chivers is my favorite review guitarist He knows how to play rhythm as well as lead I here him play a rig and I want to buy it then I see another bloke play the same guitar and I start to wonder why I ever liked it in the first place.

Bought one in torino green, because it looks like British racing green. I play it every day it sits next to my desk. It initially went out of tune due to the Bigsby but it quickly played in now it dosnt. Frets are great no sharp edges ,no buzzing frets. All i can say is go buy one you wont be disapointed.

Hey man I just tried one out today in that green color and it played awesome but the one thing that worries me is as soon as you use the bigsby it goes out of tune. I assume lubricating the nut and the Bigsby itself would help

Damon is the only review-ist that tells the truth about the G2420 handling medium gain not high overdriven gain as others will lead you to believe .

Are the humbuckers full sized? I.e., could I switch out one of the pickups with a standard-sized humbucker?
