I'll never understand how people can still call these guys Led Zeppelin copies. They sounded very similar early on, which is in no way a bad thing, but they've really come into their own sound especially with this latest album. Naturally, they still have similar traits, but let's be honest, why would you want to erase your similarity to Zeppelin? They're only one of the greatest rock bands ever to exist. They've managed to find a unique sound while channelling the epitome of 70s and 80s rock and roll. Incredible

@@charlesb2895 Falsetto...think Bee Gees and that should clear it up, but if not just google falsetto
@razrv3lc
Жыл бұрын
@@charlesb2895 falsetto is a disconnected voice register, meaning that your vocal folds don’t make good connection. It’s airy and has no power but lets you get higher than you could normally. When males sing this high, most resort to falsetto to hit those notes. Some tenors and countertenors (the highest male voice types) can get into that range without having to resort to falsetto. This is not quite a speaking range of voice (that’s what’s referred to as chest voice) but is a connected extension between chest and falsetto called head voice, where the vocal folds make strong connection. It allows you to hit higher notes with more body and power than you would if you were hitting falsetto notes. An advanced singer is able to mix the two, where you wind up in a space between chest and head that gets referred to as mixed voice often. This mix isn’t always a 50/50 split between the softer and higher head voice and stronger but lower chest; sometimes it’s a chestier mix or a headier mix. The benefit to mixed voice is that you can go higher but retain sharpness and power, which is what singers like the one for GVF do. Steve Perry is another one I think of when I think of a chesty high mixed voice. Freddie Mercury did it too. Pretty much any time a male is singing above an A in the fourth octave, they’re either in head voice, using a mixed chest/head voice, or using falsetto. The only males hitting above that note in chest are total anomalies or prepubescent lol
@kyliestorm_music
Жыл бұрын
Its your false voice, like a bird copies other birds. Falsetto, a Latin term meaning “false voice,” is defined by its airy, tinny sound. This sound is purposefully created to hit very high notes by loosening the vocal cord closure. Both male and female singers use this technique to achieve their desired sound.

They did go “back to ‘70’s and study…. through their dad’s album library!!
63,here! Old rocker Chick,but Dig Them! They brought back good music which was lacking for yrs!
Each time they come out with a new album they're more refined and polished. It's been an absolute joy to watch their progression. This is not your average rock band. These guys are on a whole new level.

I predict they will be around for a long time.
Please put the whole Candlelight Sessions on Spotify. I hope they include Flower Power, Anthem and You're the One.
They had to have out some kind of magic in their music to make anyone who listens to them feel this way. There’s no other way to put it. It’s literally magic.
This song is helping me come out of my depression. I’ve been in such a dark place lately and this song is helping me to realize that even though I’m in a dark time, the sun still shines. I’m getting the symbol tattooed on my ribs on the 21st.

Same here ❤️ driving my car with this song in the hot summer days gave me grit cuz the sun still shines. It's amazing how people from different countries are facing similar problems and they find a relief in the same thing, in this case a song ❤️

Honestly, they're in their early 20's. I think Josh and Jake are both 25. Jimmy page was 25 when Led Zeppelin started in 1969 and Robert Plant was only 21
When I first listened to this album I told myself the album would go good with a live orchestra. Oh how right I was.
You watch them as a group playing in synch, but as you continue to watch, they are each in their own world, playing in their own ethereal cosmos. Out of this world. 🇨🇦👍

Great great band
I'm 42, literally just found out about them three days ago, and I'm friggin obsessed. Don't care about who they might sound like, though I totally respect their roots. Their music makes me feel alive and present, yet at once ethereal and transcendent.

I'm 44 and also just found out about them in January when one of their videos randomly showed up on my Facebook Watch feed. Already took my 11yo daughter to see them with Metallica in Vegas. They are freaking incredible live!!! Already bought floor tix to their just announced Anaheim show in November. Our whole family loves Greta Van Fleet!
This album is absolutely incredible. This band is incredible.
Lyrics I can see the faces through the broken glass No longer pass Looking at the sky, I see the city lights But no star fights I never want to fall asleep Within our dreams the weight we sow, we reap Though I believe the sun still shines And I believe there comes a time When out of silence we will sing And even broken bells will ring Not all the answers are the same Yet we still play thе game Sweeping off the pavemеnt with a parlor broom Going nowhere soon Between the cracks of sidewalk, there's a flower grown Beyond the stone I never want to fall asleep Within our dreams the weight we sow, we reap Though I believe the sun still shines And I believe there comes a time When out of silence we will sing And even broken bells will ring Not all the answers are the same Yet we still play the game Yet we still play the game When out of silence we will sing And even broken bells will ring Not all the answers are the same Yet we still play the game

This song is harmonically, melodically, and rhythmically a masterpiece inside and out.
It's great how Josh has controlled his voice to this point. The evolution in the tone it's AMAZING. The band, in general, has grown in an incredible way.

Generally it takes 3-4 albums for any rock group to hit their stride; and they are just mind blowing. I've also been listening to The Pretty Reckless' new album, and these two are some of the best new music that I have heard in over a decade.
