Gregory Hines 2001 Master Class at UCLA
Ойын-сауық
In Feb 14, 2001, Gregory Hines gave an informal masters class in Tap Dancing at UCLA for Lynn Dally. He was a wonderful man and this video captures a bit of his spirit. I thought it had been lost, but I found it on a long forgotten Firewire drive.

Dear Lord, You have had him long enough. Please send him back. Please.
Loved, loved this man; so very talented! R.I.P. dear Mr. Hines....😘
His dancing is so fluid, and appears effortless. I love watching him dance. Gone too soon.

Yes, the Master, Himself!
This is wonderful!!!.. miss this guy!.....
He is just so unbelievably talented. Absolutely love him
My memory of Gregory was back in the 1980's when "Austin on Tap" invited him to come to Austin, TX for a masters class to our group. He was the Star of our show at the Paramont Theater with no charge because he loved to support the Art of Tap dancing to all young people. We only paid for his air fair and the transportation of his FLOOR. He was such a kind and generous person. I Was a member of the Board of Directors at that time and still have a picture of him and myself at the reception we gave for him that same evening.
He was such a talent! Phenomenal!!
Thank you for adding this! I was in the class, and it brings back wonderful memories!

He did this on his Birthday.Who gifted Whom?Still feeling that hole hes left that will never be filled.
Not Forgotten!
I was 18 when he did this, just two years before he died. Smh😪 RIP GREGORY
I worked on his ABC tv show and we were all surprised when he died of cancer. Great man
I loved watching Gregory Hines whether he was dancing or acting. Watching this video I couldn't help but think to myself that it was like watching Mikhail Baryshnikov teach ballet at Howard University to all black dancers.
So smooth, so classy, so VERY missed. RIP Gregory.
Art at its peak

It was a single master class of about two hours. he was coaching students. Why would he break this magic to show old film footage that I am sure the students had seen many times

@@mediageneration Well, the Nicholas Brothers are up there, too! Hines praised all of his mentors from the Golden Age of Hollywood! Today's dancers ignore Tap and don't appreciate the contribution these Icons made to dance! Hines does!
He had so much talent ❤miss him already
