The Hammer knew Adrian Adonis (real name Keith Franke) back when Greg was wrestling in the Fargo Brothers tag team. Find out what Adonis was like behind the gimmick and what happened after he left WWF.
Here, Valentine reveals details about the car accident that killed Adrian Adonis as well as the Victor Arko (aka Mike Kelly) and fellow wrestler Dave “Wildman” McKigney. William Arko (other half of the Kelly Twins team) was injured but survived.
Prior to the crash, Adrian Adonis earned his spots on Wrestlemania II and III. His character is pivotal to the creation of Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake too.

What actually lead to Adonis and Beefcake. Was that Adonis teamed with Brutus and Greg in a 6 man. He went to cut like one of the other wrestlers hair but cut Brutus. That set up Brutus cutting Adonis' hair at WM3

Yeah they faced the Can-Am Connection & Lanny Poffo, and this was all a build up to the Piper/Adonis WM3 war & with the Dream Team & Dino Bravo joining and cutting out Beefcake which turned him face.

@Sven Nordqvist Yes sir, there's a good number of matches from his 87-88 run in the AWA right here on KZread if you want to see for yourself. He was partner with Cowboy Bob Orton for a short while, and he wrestled Greg Gagne in the finale to crown the first AWA tv champion. He came in during a weird period for the AWA where they hired a few recognizable names but only for a few tapings (Adonis, Orton, Tommy Rich, original Midnight Express), by the beginning of 88 he was already gone from the promotion.

At the time of the accident Adrian was doing that shot in Newfoundland for a friend. He was actually on his way back to the WWF with Dick Murdoch. Conflicting reports on whether he already signed his future WWF contract or not. He did an appearance with Dick in Japan wearing the leather and when the Japanese woman handed him his flowers as they customarily do before the match Adrian tossed the flowers into the stands. He was probably sick of looking at flowers at that point. 😁
