This man is incredibly talented with an amazing and beautiful voice! The shear fact that he messed up a little but kept on going, with a smile, shows his brave character. And then he really came through at the end with that last glass shattering note with such movement and energy. It's really remarkable that something so beautiful can come out of a person. Wow. Breath taken. :)

He has got a great instrument. But it is all over the place. He has little to no control over it. Pity, if he was taught from a very young age he would have developed into a great artist.

I basically agree with most of your commentators. I am amazed that THEY (the judges) are amazed. Have they never heard of Marian Anderson, the GREAT American contralto? Give Greg a few years of good musical training and he will blow them all away. And for all those with vulgar thoughts, he is NOT a castrati. He would NOT have a beard and the facial features he does, if that would have been the case. Follow your dream, Greg. You will be terrific!

PS: I forgot about "soprano", "mezzo-soprano" and "contralto", which are female voices, and they can also be "lyric" or "dramatic". However, Baroque music requires lyric voices. Countertenors usually have the range of a mezzo or even soprano, but the timbre (colour of the voice) is masculine. Once you get used to it, you actually are able to tell if it's a soprano or a countertenor by ear.

It would be too bad for him to waste it because he didn't have the right people around him to give him encouragement and direction. Idiots who comment rudely have nothing to offer this world but negativity.....while this kid has an actual abilty and the guts to get out there and try.

The cape was a little weird, but he is really theatrical and that helps rock stars-or opera stars we'll hope. Look at how theatrical David Bowie and Elton John have been. Fantastic voice-countertenor not falsetto. Very cute, too. He could be Puck in a musical version of Shakespeare's play. I read online that he's been studying singing in Europe for years after his audition. Simon, for goodness sake, ought to know what a counter tenor is. I think he was a little mean. Greg took it well.

he has a rare gift - a male soprano. but god that was a terrible song choice. any classic opera song would have been fine. I mean, if he really have to stay away from opera, pick any duet song. one example is "one man woman" by Paul Anka. I know, it's a one-man-duet trick that has been done to dead but at least that song will allow him to show off both his low and high notes.

He is a very good singer. He's charming and witty. The cape/costume =theatricality. The audience loved him. 2 of the judges liked him. In the first audition, it was obvious that Simon was surprised by the notes he could hit, but he was surely thinking like a record producer. I think a lot of the hateful comments are being made by people who are biased against his voice and likely homophobic jerks. Even is a person is gay, and I'm not saying Greg is, it's the performance that counts not the sexual orientation. If someone can't be objective, then he/she should keep his/her comments to him/herself.

Thank you, Romford, for posting that. After BGT, we all wanted to see more Welsh phenom Greg Pritchard!

Yes, SuperCulby and EmilieJune. The song is originally a duet between Queen's Freddy Mercury and the operatic soprano Montserrat Caballe, and Greg is signing both parts. Some pair of balls, huh? This is one of the bravest displays vocal nerve that I've seen in a long time. Bravo.
