Part of it is that BBC is not allowed to hand out cash or extravagant non-cash prizes, so many shows that would have otherwise been competitions/quiz shows end up just having comediants being in them for the laughs rather than members of the public.

really the main one theyd be referencing is the one they sung tgether on the horne section podcast. someone found the person who wrote it, and they have written HUNDREDS of poems and stories about them - i wouldnt be surprised if it was in the thousands since i saw it 3 years ago

The funny thing is. The question on if Greg & Alex's on-screen relationship was somewhat Dom/Sub. KZread recommended me as the next video after this is "Taskmaster's Most Romantic Moments". The video's intro pic is of Greg & Alex kissing.

I love them both. I do not see sexual tension or a father/son relationship ...I DO see a bully beating up on a subordinate PA....and the funny thing is, Alex designed the dynamic of the show. They are brilliant.

I think the couple he was talking about may have been my aunt and uncle... shes Danish and they were living in Shropshire during the 80's also about the right age!

Ahh yes, the Elina series. Very common in the UK as they were produced by BCT, as well as one of the cheaper Turkish factories so easy to get in places like Trago and B&Q

I feel like they misunderstood the body swap question? Like, they thought "body swap" meant the head would stay but I think what the guy asking the question meant was the whole body, including the head. So it'd be their mum's mind inside their crush's body (head and all) and vice versa.

funny that russell mentioned johnny depp briefly living in bath because it's my hometown & my dad SWEARS he nearly accidentally ran him over once (johnny depp, not russell howard). we also had a surreal time one christmas eve in a pub because russell was sat RIGHT behind us & my entire family were desperately trying to play it cool & not bother him. we were drunk & probably failed miserably. i miss bath.

Mind you, I don't hate all American TV, but a good portion of it is absolute garbage. It could be done and even done well in America, but it wouldn't be because the producers for most AmerIcan TV are too busy snorting blow off of hookers' backsides to make good content and marketing tells them they have to cater to the lowest common denominator.

@@krs9748 Was there? I've never even heard of it. Looking it up, it seems to have been a Comedy Central endeavor. It seems Reggie Watts was the task master and Alex Horne was assistant. Looking over the panelists, it looks like it could have had some potential. I like Reggie but I don't think he'd have the same kind of looming vibe as Greg Davies that makes for a good task master, though. Comedy Central also has a poor track record for keeping decent shows on the air, so no surprise there that it only lasted a season. I'd also imagine Alex probably didn't have time to continue putting into the show, since he was also doing the UK original.
