I am viewing this eight years later. It’s a beautiful book. But it also tells me you have a beautiful relationship. Sharing life together, not just living life together. I hope you see this message.

Hi Ruth! Those were some very special times. It certainly takes work to share a life with someone, both have to be willing to ride out the bumps in the road. Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment ❤️.
What a special, thoughtful & clever gift! Thanks for the idea!

I just had to stop at 1:41 and say that your handmade chipboard cover is fantastic!!!
Amazing idea! Timing couldn't have been more perfect. My oldest is celebrating a birthday and I have been racking my brains on how to make it special. She would love this. Considering I have held onto all her cards since she was tiny I am excited to put something like this together for her.!! Yay and thank you! You are amazing Debbie :)
What a special journal and relationship!❤️
Beautiful book! So sweet that he saved all that stuff & still looks at it and that you made this for him!
What a wonderful way to gather all the mementos and trinkets from your life together. Very cool the way you did this!
I love this idea. I have a lot of cards, pictures and letters from my kids growing up that I have kept that are just sitting in a box. This is an amazing idea to store them. I'm going to do this. Thanks for sharing💗
Great gift! Wow all husbands should be so sentimental :) Lucky you.

what a great idea and such a wonderful gift. It has turned out wonderfully - thank you for sharing
You have a dear, sweet hubbin, just like mine. :) I must commend you for not destroying the cards, but enhancing them with your photos and journaling tags on the backs of the cards. I cringe when seeing other artists destroy genealogical documents like these and I hope your descendants will enjoy this book as much as both of you have. I'm researching my 3rd great-grandfather who was a Primitive Baptist minister and State Legislator in both Illinois and Kansas and have nothing personal of his except his story which has been handed down by my grandmother's generation of cousins, so I know how precious these types of documents are to genealogists. Thank you.
What a lovely sentiment in giving your beloved such a personal gift that keeps on giving. This one whould be hard to top for next year. Love always to you and your family from a new subscriber.
Such a personal book to share with us and I am so glad that you did. When my mom passed we found in her drawer bundles of cards she received tied up in ribbons. They have been in a box. I will now go through them and make a beautiful memory book to look through. What a beautiful idea Thank You ~janet : )

What a great idea to combine, preserve, and augment your man's treasures. It's a beautiful book, and a wonderful present for an obviously sentimental man with a gentle heart. I know he will enjoy looking at it, adding to it, and reliving the precious moments all the rest of his life. Thank you for your generosity in these videos (I have enjoyed them so much!!), and especially thank you for your beautiful freebies at your website. I am just beginning my journey with making my own journals, and very much intimidated by your beautiful creations. But they have inspired me to begin, and I will get better. Thanks again for sharing so much of yourself, your ideas, and your heart, and in this one, your family. Bless you!!!
A wonderful project, I’m going to copy your idea for some cards I have. Love it, thanks for sharing.

Great idea. Love the book. TFS Chrissie
I have always wanted to do something with my cards (I keep all, even valentines cards from elementary school) I always thought I'd make a scrapbook. I've kept all sorts of stuff throughout the years but never started. I just got into crafting 3 years ago (I didn't know it was a thing, I always loved arts and crafts from school but didn't know there was more than fun foam., construction paper, Pom Pom balls and pipe cleaners lol) I finally found my passion and you have become my inspiration. I started with cards a couple years ago and now have my own studio area but lately I've been into the altering. After watching your videos I decided to start a junk journal project. It's my first one with Manila folders because o don't have any cool books yet but thank you for so many ideas and your time to share them with us. I like this idea more than my original idea of a scrapbook for cards, now if only people would write something meaningful in them when they gave them to me lol Some are blank!
I think this is so awesome...TFS

Karen, in book binding, a signature is a section of pages sewn together. A book contains many that are then bound to the book itself.

For the cover did you use the paint to glue down the tissue paper and embossed items, I can sort of see the paint working kind of like mod podge...
@debbieanneEVG

darlene roach I used gel medium to glue the papers down first and then painted on top.
Debbie, can you tell me where I can get the textured paper you have on the cover of this book, and you have also used on other books???? I want to used some textured paper on a bookcover I am doing, and I don't have an embosser. thanks, Bev White

It's been so long i had to dig it out lol. It was a combination of embossing folder and tissue paper glued down with gel medium. I have a tutorial planned for this technique in the near future :)
This is so special! I'm incredibly sentimental, so it's right up my alley! Also, I think I'm in love with your husband, lol.
