Great review and demonstration of this Greenworks machine, I learn a lot. Purchased one late last fall but didn't get a chance to use it until a few weeks ago. My machine is identical to yours but has the wheel drive and came with two batteries. Had it up and running in ten minutes right out of the box. Pulled the batteries and charger out the day before, they were fully charged when inserted in the mower. Put the bag on the back but didn't realize the mulching plug was still installed. Was quite surprised when I finished the lawn and went to empty the bag and finding nothing in it. :) Must say the mulching feature works excellent, and will probably avoid using the bag in the future as it's not really needed. Really impressed with it's overall performance, it's a well designed and built mower.

Got mine a couple months ago and love it! I got the self-propelled version with two 4 amp batteries and charger..I can do a half an acre of lawn in an hour and a half and still have 2 bars of power life left in one of the batteries. Pretty amazing. The single-handle height adjustment is well designed, smooth and easy to switch, which I like to do for diferent parts of the yard. My only gripe is the wires near the deck are a little exposed and I worry that they might get caught up on low tree limbs.

Received this mower as a gift and when I took it out of the box the front left wheel was touching the body of the mower at heights 5,6 and 7. Looks like the front axel is bent. Had to come from the factory this way as the box was not damaged. I called Greenworks and they are sending me a new axel which I hope fixes this issue. They told me 2 weeks which I find is a joke and have to borrow one till this comes in.

Lots of people get batteries and treat them like shot cause they don’t know how to take care of lithium batteries. They use Samsung and LG cells. The exact same ones that are in Ego batteries. I honestly think EGO is a little over rated.

1500 watts = about 2 horsepower. That said, only one 21- or 22-inch battery mower has more power: Greenworks Commercial's 2022 green-deck 82-volt model, at 2,000 watts. It's available as a push mower ($500) or self-propelled ($600). I almost bought it, but today I bought this 60V consuner model instead because (1) I'm already in the 60V platform and (2) the commercial model lacks a Turbo button.

I bought this mower a couple weeks ago and have used it twice and I can say that it lacks power of a gas mower hands down. The side discharge is almost non existent after removing the mulching attachment and putting the side discharge chute on it leaves clumps of grass instead of discharging from the side because there is not enough power (with full battery charge) to blow the grass out from the mower. Same thing when using the bag it cant throw the grass into the bag not enough power. the blade seem to run slowly and i have to go back over spots of grass several times. It will eventually get the job done however, the mower IS TERRIBLY UNDER POWERED

I got the one with the single 5.0Ah battery and it ran great all of last (2020) season. This season, the battery would not take a charge or run the mower. Greenworks warranty (managed by Gardner Inc) confirmed it is a defective battery on Jun 08 and confirmed (after I sent purchase receipt) that I qualify for a replacement. But they keep giving me the run around instead of sending the replacement 5.0Ah battery as it is supposedly out of stock (even though Greenworks website shows in stock). Initially, they said that if the 5.0Ah battery does not come in stock they would send a bigger capacity battery. Then they said they cannot do that and asked me to call later. Every time I call, I am put on hold and more often than not the phone gets disconnected after 30 minutes or so. I also found an email address posted on Amazon by "Greenworks Tech" asking people with similar issues to send email and they would get it resolved promptly. No response yet to my Jun 23rd email. As a last resort, I have noticed people open a case with Better Business Bureau and that is when it seems to get Greenworks attention. I like Greenworks products when they work and appreciate Boss' videos and have learnt a lot about "hacks" and tools from watching his videos. Unfortunately, I am almost halfway through our lawn season in upper midwest and have not been able to use the mower with its 5.0Ah battery to manage my lawn. I have not yet opened a case with BBB but they are definitely testing my patience. And yes, I have seen the videos here of people jump starting Li-Ion batteries but in my case it sounds like the BMS is defective.

@@heathwirt8919 After repeated calling, they sent me a 4.0AH battery to replace the 5.0AH battery. I received the replacement in mid to late July (IIRC) of last year. Although I am unable to mow the entire lawn with the 4.0Ah battery, I do have a 2.5AH that came with my Greenworks blower. So to avoid waiting any longer for the 5.0Ah battery, I compromised and got the 4AH and use the smaller capacity battery to wrap up mowing the lawn (not ideal). And yes, I live in the Frozen Tundra / Upper Midwest and store my batteries at temps of at least 50 or higher (garage or basement).
