Greenworks 60V String Trimmer Review | Quick Wind Head and Good Balance
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
One of the highlights of the Greenworks Pro 60V trimmer (model ST60L210) is the 16-inch cutting swath. Almost all of the string trimmers that we looked at in our recent Best Battery-Powered Weedeater Roundup, Pro models and DIY models alike, cut with a 15-inch diameter or less. Greenworks also uses a new Load N’ Go trimmer head, so restringing it and ratcheting the line back to a usable length takes just seconds.

I've owned this trimmer for a while now and had no issues with it. However, I did not realize it had two speeds until I watched your video. Nice to know. Thanks!
Thank you so much Kenny....your review was excellent...especially for a little "old" lady who's never done this before! I'm going to do my best and certainly appreciate your telling me how it works. 😀 Cheers!
Thanks for showing how to reload the string. We spent entirely too long fighting to get it to work before watching this video.
UPDATE~Found the perfect line for this trimmer! It transforms this trimmer from a tool I can't use to one that I want to use :) Dewalt line .080 x 225ft. part #DW01DT802 (found at Home Depot). This smooth line (not twisted or multi-angle) makes loading a breeze and the bump advance now works perfect. Just get this line & thank me later!
Thanks for the info, I just watched a video of someone taking the whole head apart to restring and thought...there has got to be a better way. And now I got it!
Thanks Kenny! After purchasing the 80v trimmer and leaf blower combo at Costco last year. I had misplaced the directions and really found it difficult to wind the trimmer. Your video is the best and a saved me that headache moving forward! Quick and easy! I highly recommend this trimmer as well as the leaf blower!

His technique absolutely won't work, it should, but it doest. You have to take it apart and wind it on. I literally returned it after the 5th time I did this. Costco is great on returns, they also said they quit carrying it because of how many returns about the string loading. About 50% of people returned the Greenworks weed eater, crazy.

@todayilearnedsomething8105 I'm sorry to hear this trimmer didn't work out for you. I was very frustrated and ready to return the trimmer myself until I followed Kenny's directions step-by-step, very important. Line up the arrows, thread the line, wind the line. I've had this trimmer for a few years now, and winding the line is no longer an issue. I did notice that Greenworks winding head may have been updated in the past year or so. Hopefully it's more user-friendly.
Great video! I was curious about the weight & string. Answered all of my questions. I recently bought the lawnmower & love it. Thanks for sharing.
GREAT video ! Thank you. I had no problem changing the line after watching.
Nice. I like reviews and demonstrations like this. Right to the point. Thanks.
Thanks so much, you just saved my sanity with this video, looking at the spool it makes no sense at all. Follow these steps and don’t ask questions. That will get it done, it’s a two minute operation if you do.

thanks for information about trimmer lines, pretty easy installations. i learned how to do it appreciate to show in video. Thanks again.
Great video. And the process to switch out the is so much easier than on my old trimmer.
Great Job on getting straight to it, very informative and helpful.
Thanks. Much better than the official tutorial. They never discussed taking the cover off which revealed the tangled string, which was keeping me from feeding more string through.
Thank you! I have a newer battery powered Toro that has the same still head so your directions worked perfectly for me.
Thank you! I knew it was easier than I was trying to do!
Thank you! I really appreciate your demo and explanation for installing replacement string. I really like the trimmer but it's NOTHING without string. :) I have Greenworks cordless mower, blower and trimmer--all work well!

Good video. Thanks. I am going to buy a trimmer this weekend
Wow! I've been doing it wrong for years lol 😆. I'm definitely going to subscribe and learn a lot more from you. Thanks!
Perfect. So and straight to the point.
Love this weed eater!! After I got my greenworks 60v mower last summer, I recently ordered the 60v weedeater. That way I can use the same battery/charger for all my yard equipment. No more fooling around with fuel mixtures/carborators/spark plugs and de winterising my tools

Thanks for the review! Appreciate the clear instructions on how to replace/add the line.

None of these videos show the correct way to get the line in, which is a nightmare, horrible design. I returned mine and bought a gas one because I don't like Fing with putting the string in. I worked landscaping for a decade teenage through college, worst design I have ever seen. It works once you get string in it.
Hi Kenny wonder if you could help I have the 60v trimmer but ever since I replaced the line after the original line ran out the bump head does not feed the line I am using the 080 but I bought off amazon does it need to be greenworks brand? I have read other people having this issue.
Thanks for this video!!!
Hi Kenny.... Thanks for the video. Just purchased this edger, I've never used one before, but about 3 minutes after I turned it on, it stopped and I cant get it running again. any suggestions for what I might try before returning it?
Thank God I found this video. I was cussing at the weed trimmer in the kitchen, LOL....This worked like a charm in getting that dang line threaded thru. While I do like the trimmer, the line change-out is a bit difficult. Especially if you have arthritis in the hands. Turning that know took all I had.
Kenny Can you get the Load N Go head as a replacement part for an older model Greenworks 60V the kind with the battery that loads from the back end ? Would it be interchangeable with that style / model ?
great presentation, also how you replease the electric motor on this trimer .Thank you for reply
I have the 60V trimmer with the green head, and it doesn't seem that intuitive like the trimmer you just showed. The tap/advance feature doesn't seem to work and i bough the prerolled spools from greenworks. Not sure what i'm doing wrong. Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Do you know if you can replace the quick wind onto a model that doesn’t have it?
Trying to use this one for commercial use and a couple extra batteries. Is there one you have reviews on commercially?
Got it. Pretty heavy on the hand pressure to load. 40-50 pounds on my year old machine. It does well overall. I wonder if that much pressure is too big of an ask for an older residential buyer?? Thoughts?
I have the 60 inch pro and I do like the way it runs but the head keeps popping off if I touch anything resembling a fence or a rock intros the string in the spring in the button all over the yard I'm looking for a fixed head for it
How do I install a speed feed head on a 24 volt model? The string on the inside keeps slipping - pain in the ass! I can't find anywhere the head casing comes off.

I've got the 60v ST60L00. Can I use the new bumper head on my unit?
I have 60v battery from a Warrior Eco trimmer. Can use it in the Greenwoeks trimmer?

so, the arrow on my bump knob has been scratched off during use. any suggestions on how to line it up properly? do i need to buy a new bump knob? how often are those typically needing to be replaced? Thanks in advance.
Can you remover the trimmer on this to then add the cultivator attachment?
I have the trimmer but with the 4ah battery. Where do you find replacement batteries?
why do we have a blade to that guard at the bottom? when the trim line thread breaks, how do you pull it out from two sides to make it equal?
How do you change the trimmer head on this? I would like to use blades.
While use the trimmer and when string gets shorter does it comes out automatically? we need keep pulling out manually.
Thank you for sharing.
I just got my Green Pro 80v 16" model similar to that. I'm having trouble with the handle assembly. I tighten the knob but it only has one bolt. It's not sturdy enough to support weight of machine. Shaft keeps popping out of the side that doesn't have a bolt.
Hello Kenny, how or what i need to do to turn the knob in order to wind the line after i thread the line thru the holes? The knob is stuck. Thank you for your help.
I've got the 13 in pro 60v version. How long should the length of line be to insert into the string winder? I've got . 08 line.
Now its loaded. What do you do to lengthen the strings again once they are worn out using what has been loaded?
Great video thank you.
How do I get more string out once it wastes from trimming? I have to open it? I know how to load it but when you trim the string gets short. How do I take some more out ?
This thing is a beast...way better than my gas trimmer.

@@dioncurtiscurtis3188 I agree. I've had mine for almost 2 years and it's still running strong. I don't even switch it to high mode I keep it on low and it's enough for what I do

I've have the Greenworks Pro ST60L02 and the bumper head is so chewed up you cannot see where the arrows are. And cannot find REPLACEMENT PARTS for the bumper head & cap. Any suggestions.....Anyone??
Does it have a brushed motor or a brushless motor?
How long does the battery last on one full charge ?
I have this trimmer. When I run the battery all the way down, and place it on the charger, I get a flashing red light and it won't except a charge. I must wait up to a day, repeatedly trying to get the battery to charge, but still a red flashing light, until it decides to except the dead battery and start charging. What's up with this?
I am finding difficulty and painful in winding my line with my hands , the knob needs to be bigger ….is there something on market that can replace my existing line head for an easier winding?
Researching cordless models. Are there cordless models that have: 1.) Brushless 2.) Self feed/not bump 3.) Self wind like your demonstration above. Thanks!
Is there a wheel attachment that I can buy compatible with this tool?
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!😊❤
Do you have to restring/rethread like that as you trim to move the string along (during and throughout EVERY trim)? Or do you do that ONLY when you run out of string completely and need to replace the entire spool? Also, must you remove that black cover plate to do this, or were you just removing it for demonstration purposes via closeup? I have only used a trimmer once and fought with it until I gave up. I need help. My lawn guy cracked and put holes in my new siding and has pulverized 2 shrubs after only 2 mows. I now need to order new siding which will not match because it'll come from a different lot. Please help. I hope you are still answering comments and that this posts.

If you have the Greenworks Pro 60V trimmer (model ST60L02) which is very similar to the model shown in video. You only have to take the spool head apart if there's a jam or problem of some sort. He only took it apart to get the line out so he could demonstrate how you LOAD it through the outside holes, after Lining Up Arrows. Once it is loaded with line, to advance more line out longer, you BUMP it on the ground (I recommend doing this on dirt/grass, not on cement). Good luck!
Хороший триммер. Интересно, привод вала осуществляется напрямую от двигателя или есть редуктор?
Can I get a replacement head for my green weed eater at Lowe’s
how long does a battery last on average?
Is it ok to use it without the guard on it ?
The head on the Greenworks pro 60v ST60L254 is vastly different, do you have a “how to” on changing the string for it? The instructions are not very user friendly.
What can I do to make the retreading nob easier to turn its hard to turn.
What size string does it take? Thanks
I bought one of these and I’m having trouble when I tap the head the string does not feed it has drove me crazy does anybody know what I can do to fix this problem ?
Should have put that head on the older models, I now a weedeater that runs every time, but refuses to dispense line. Will that head fit older model or should I just buy a Steil
Stupid question: how do you pop the head off to get the line out?
How do you tilt the guard please
Thank you!!!!
well your video was excellent however, I'm 62 and it was all I could do to push and turn the round bump thing! Is it just me or is it correct to say that holding in and turning the bump thing is Extremely difficult to do? Or is it just me? But I finally did get it to where I could not turn it anymore. So, tomorrow I'll see if I got it right. Hope so. I better start doing some serious strength building exercises. Loved how exact you were on loading the line. But do wish you'd show how you got the whole thing apart in slo mo cause I had to go back outside and use it another 30 mins. before the other side of the line ran out. This is hard work, at least for me .lol :)

There's two prongs that fit down inside to hold the head/cap on. You have to squeeze those two prongs inward at the same time you pry or pull the cover upwards. There's a lip that the prongs have to clear.
