My grandfather was a scientist that Stonewall. He was such an amazing man. He retired in 1978 moved back to his hometown of Titus Alabama. I remember when he and my grandmother passed away within a year of each other and going into their home and doing exactly what you're doing. Lots and lots of memorabilia from many places and very expensive itemsinside the home. It was a devastating time in a very sad time. I miss how Greenville used to be and it saddens me how it has turned out

If I became a millionaire, I would make a huge donation to revitalize that town. Build entirely new housing districts, bring jobs back to the area, make education a priority for the youth in the area. Places like this don't deserve to die. I want to help out so bad! Love to Greenville, from Iowa!

the gas station at the 4 way stop in Arcola caught fire a couple months ago. A lot of places are shutting down, sadly. K Mart, Shoney's, Burke's, Piccadilly , Aaron's. Thats just in the past 2 years. But i still love Greenville. I love the Chinese buffet, the Library, and Being able to go fishing with my husband out on the Levee. Were getting a Harbor Freight Tools and we have a Dickies Bbq now which ive been really happy about since im a Texas native. My husband tells me that Greenville used to be a popular place, but he has seen it go downhill the past several years. But i always run into people that say theyre from up north, and decided to move down here when they retired. and they love it because its so much mire laid back. For me, ive never seen so many pot holes in my life ! But i just have to still say no matter what, i love Greenville !

When everyone else left her, we stayed. I could leave for a better annual or to show off my long driveway or cup of Starbucks but the old ways are a memory. My city is shedding some dead skin so that brand new ideas and entrepreneurs can flourish. My city will rejuvenate and bounce back. I AM GREENVILLE from the “bad parts” to the bad parts. Lol... it looks bad... YOU LOOK BAD!

It was also a commentary on when we lose loved ones, change is inevitable, and that the stuff we search after in life can’t go with us. Greenville has a lot of heart, and I do think small town America will come back.

I remember visiting my grandparents and Leland every weekend and sometimes through the week and it was the greatest times ever. I remember taking dance class for many years at Mrs. Jackson and now it's just a ghost town with a lot of violence
