This short film shows how green social prescribing has been applied and is operating in the Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care System. Derby and Derbyshire are one of 7 test and learn sites selected to participate in the national cross government Green Social Prescribing Programme to tackle and prevent mental ill-health. Working together, partners from the health and nature sectors have been testing what is required to embed green social prescribing into communities in order to:
• improve mental health outcomes
• reduce health inequalities
• reduce demand on the health and social care system
• develop best practice in making green social activities more resilient and accessible.
The film shows the contribution and perspective of Integrated Care System staff, green providers and someone who has lived experience of mental ill-health and has benefited from nature based support.
Derbyshire is part of the cross-governmental green social prescribing programme working with HM Government, The National Lottery, Sport England, NHS England, National Academy for Social Prescribing and Natural England.
