Green energy is bringing about ‘industrial collapse’ for Germany

Menzies Research Centre Executive Director Nick Cater says the green energy transition has been “disastrous” for Germany.
Household power in Germany was the highest in Europe in the second half of 2023.
“They were the poster child of green energy ... every field it seems is covered in solar panels and windmills but it’s not doing the trick,” Mr Cater told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“It’s been a disaster for Germany and it's bringing about their industrial collapse.”

READ ALL OF THIS ,,,, A wind farm talks to farmer (land owner) a deal is made where the land owner is told after 20 or 25 years the installation will be given to them on top of the rent that has been paid over the past years . sounds good but the farms costs are so big as to have the landholder going backwards financially so the farmer bails out and sells the new owner is then lumbered with all the costs and no benefit. Now as i have said before if u add up all the concrete slabs under all the land-based turbines in Australia it would have made three hydro plants with a life of 100 years. so why is hydro not green power?

I can see the UK going the same way. There are only 9 operational reactors in the UK producing 5.9 GWe. 8 of them are owned by EDF (French) and they only produce 20% of what the UK need. I could be wrong but this is what I have found from my research, others may know better. Why don't the UK govenment invest in their own nuclear power stations, why is everything owned by foreign companies. Got to be backhanders going on somewhere (allegedly).

From WC, USA, our electricity here in North East Tennessee comes from TVA and then down to and through our local power company! The power is produced by dams on rivers, coal, now more natural gas, and nuclear! Our cost here at our house is usually 9 to 10 cents per kilowatt! I rarely have a power bill of over $200. Per month and there are months in the spring and fall when it is under $100. Per month! My sister-in-law in Bavaria Germany pays 30 cents Euro for One Kilowatt! So you can see what a disaster it has been for Germany to shut down their Nuclear power plants! And no help or improvement in sight for them!

Solar panels are made from silica. Which is very aggressively mined, the silica is heated using massive amounts of coal to turn into silica glass. At about 35 degrees of latitude, north or south of the equator, the amount of energy you need for a solar panel to be built, mined, manufactured etc is greater than the total amount of energy that panel will produce in it`s 20 year lifespan. We have good reason to be sceptical of a theory if: (1) Its proponents don't allow debates; (2) All predictions made based on that theory have been proven wrong; (3) Its proponents committed frauds. Does Man-made Climate Change theory fit the above? Never in the history of science has any field refused to discuss or debate their conclusions or even come close to making the absurd statement that the 'Science is settled.' Science is NEVER EVER settled. (but the politics is!!) The very nature of science itself states this boldly. There are a ton of theories and relatively few laws. They are acting as if their argument is a law similar to that of gravity. How absurdly arrogant and ridiculous. Where in history do we find similar behaviour ? Religion ! They are an anarchist death-cult. Science works through research and debate - not censorship, propaganda, faith, or intimidation. Climate "experts" are consistently wrong in their "expert" forecasts, yet they are never called to account! The temperature has risen half a degree Celsius in the last 150 years and that coincided with the end of ''The Little Ice Age'' so the starting point for that declaration was the end of the coldest period in the last TWO THOUSAND YEARS!!

@@hokroeger Fossil fuel subsidies are not synonymous with the current subsidies on anything related to the so called "green" economy. Fossil fuel subsidies are in the form of interest free loans. Governments receive billions in royalty payments from all extraction industries, so these "subsidies" are a form of government investment in which they garner a huge return. Green subsidies and mandates are in place because these products would not survive the free market. Right now many governments are taxing hard working people so they can write cheques to rich people so they can trade in their BMW's and buy a Tesla, a luxury consumer product, in some kind of twisted logic that this is how we save a planet. Meanwhile millions take the subway and get squat. Someone should explain to climate mongering politicians that the subway runs on electricity and moves millions of people, and that nobody should be subsidizing luxury consumer products. It's repulsive. Tariffs are an entirely different subject matter. They are imposing tariffs on numerous Chinese products due to various geopolitical and economic reasons.

@@anthonymorris5084 I hope that you at least agree that 100% tariffs on EVS are NOT subsidies. And that subsidies for the oil industry are still subsidies! And, as far as I know, US doesn't allow a single dollar to subsidizing Chinese EVs, only the 100 U$ tariff, which will now subsidize the oil industry. Anyway, subsidies on EVs and solar are "are a form of government investment in pollution fighting, in which they garner a huge return." If you are sure that EVs "can't survive a free market", why the heck would the US put 100% on tariffs on Chinese EVs, even after denying any subsidies on them? They wouldn't survive anyway, that's your claim, right? "Right now many governments are taxing hard working people so they can" not buy an EV already punished with 100% tariffs! Funny part: even a Tesla is now cheaper as an BMW!!! I bought my second EV (Wuling Mini) for 14,300 USD - no subsides available for it. What kind of car can you get for that money in the US? " imposing tariffs on numerous Chinese products due to various geopolitical and economic reasons." Economic reason: They destroy the dirty oil industry. Political reason: US wants to destroy China at any costs.

@@hokroeger The tariffs are on Chinese goods. There are plenty of other manufactures that make EV's in the US and other countries. You seem obsessed with this. I have no interest in a tariff discussion. You're using it to deflect and pretending that this somehow invalidates the simple truth that EV's are subsidized by taxpayers and it's because they wouldn't survive the free market. This is what you're refusing to acknowledge. Your oil subsidy is also a common trope among climate zealots and isn't valid. There is no return in the form of pollution fighting and EVs are just as environmentally destructive as ICE vehicles. Possibly more so. Batteries are an enormous issue which you folks sweep under the rug and ignore because it ruins your narrative. *"Economic reason: They destroy the dirty oil industry. Political reason: US wants to destroy China at any costs."* These are more tropes. If your argument relies on making stuff up you have no argument. If you have to make stuff up this should be telling you something. Chinese EV tariffs have zero to do with the oil industry. The tariffs are due to unfair business practices within China.

Mate, it's a war between the WEF and the oil and gas industry. We are simply Cannon fodder and collateral damage. Our government is too gutless to stand up to the multinational companies and take back ownership and control of OUR resources.

I guess it's sarcasm. Green energy = a LOT more expensive as it requires some form of storage such as huge batteries which cost a lot. Also, piloting many decentralized power sources is a lot more complicated. And it STILL requires the use of gaz/petrol power plants.

The laws of economics and physics will eventually grind it to a halt after a colossal amount of money and resources have been squandered.
