When they were on the Howard Stern Show to promote RevRad in 2016, Howard Stern kinda called him out on that because when Howard was playing snippets of Dookie songs for them and the audience to listen to and then talk about, Billie started to giggle a bit so Howard asked if he was shy or nervous about it. I think Billie simply said that it's just always a rush because he rarely gets the opportunity to listen to himself with headphones on, so it's like driving in your car and hearing your own song play on the radio and it gets your adrenaline flowing.

@yazzyhannamusic You obviously don't know your Green Day history. Do your research before telling someone they're wrong when you have ZERO clue what you're talking about. He wrote this after they met at one of their shows (I believe in her home state of Minnesota) when she was in college and with her boyfriend at the time. A couple of years later, after her and her boyfriend broke up, they started seeing each other, and the rest is history. Are you going to claim that 80 isn't about him being in love with her, too? Because that one is about her as well. I've known 2000 LYA was about her for about 20 years. He also mentioned it on I believe the Armchair Expert Podcast with Dax Shepard, but it may have been on Marc Maron's WTF podcast.

I don't understand, how did A.I. help him recreate the stems?? Isn't he just listening to the song and re-recording it? Lol. Where does the A.I. come in? Unless... that isn't even Billie.. that's A.I. Billie.

The only thing I can think of is that he's used the AI to remove the OG guitar track from the album mix and now he re-recording his parts while listening to this guitar-less mix, yielding a brand new stem track of just the guitar. I'm not sure what the point is though; I imagine if the AI can remove ONLY the guitar, it could also remove everything BUT the guitar. Do they just want a better sound? Are they gonna redo everything except the vocals? The entire album? Maybe they're just redoing this one song for a game or something. Or maybe it's just an ad for Audioshake like some are suggesting. I have so many questions.

Imagine saying this knowing what Beatles fans have to put up with: Love Me Do (single version only survives as a mono 45 rip, album version only survives in mono) P.S. I Love You (only survives in mono) Please Please Me (forced to use inferior alternate take for stereo mix, as original take used for mono mix only survives in mono) Rest of debut album (2 track recording, backing track hard left, vocals and lead guitar hard right) She Loves You (only survives in mono, although a re-recording with German vocals does survive with instruments in one channel and vocals in the other) I'll Get You (only survives in mono) With The Beatles (instrumental hard left, acapella hard right) Compare that to Kerplunk, where you've got a well balanced stereo mix with double tracked rhythm guitars panned L+R, centered bass, and stereo drums.
