Totally mate. It shows their versatility and longevity that people born decades apart can like a band, which is commendable. I'm 41 and Green Day to me is the way before Dookie (but including Dookie) stuff. Everything (pretty much) tuned down 1/2 step. '2000 Light Years Away', "Who Wrote Holden Caulfield", "Going to Pasalacqua", "Welcome To Paradise" etc. American Idiot was a bloody good album also though.

I took my 13 year old to a Green Day concert a few weeks ago (Hella Mega Tour in Atlanta) and she had the time of her life, even though she only knew a couple of their songs. The energy in that arena was nothing short of electric, and as all the kids said, the music is super relatable. An entire arena of people spanning a broad age range singing in unison is something everyone should experience.

Lucky kid to have a cool parent. I remember being 12 and BEGGING my mom to take me to the Pop Disaster tour but not being able to go.

The one girl who always knows all the songs and sings (she does it in every video). Put her in a show by herself she’s great and understands good music.

90s and early 2000s where the best times ever, no crazy inflation, good life, lots of sites and programs like Emule and Napster to download all the music from around the world, and the music was the best back then... Nowadays is all samples and the same musics with diferent mixes. No originals almost now.

I can confirm that being a teenager when Green Day were huge was an amazing experience.

The reason Green Day has been loved generation after generation is very simple.. they have consistently produced great music year after year. Almost every studio album they ever released has multiple hit songs. That's not a coincidence.

I am going to be 65 and I love listening to Green Day. I play it at 100% power (500 watts). My neighbor yells at me about the music all the time. She has stuff hanging on the walls of her kitchen and she tells me when I listen to Green Day and some other bands she can see the wall hangings bouncing on the wall. Just the way I like it....Cranking at 100% power.

"I wish I was a Teenager during this period of time" - believe me, it was so fucking great ... I remember this being a hit, everyone loved it, it was a majority, everybody was rocking back then.

I was born in 87, so I grew up with them. But I didn’t start appreciating them until I was in my late teens… like when their album American Idiot came out in 2004. My kids aren’t into them though lol

What's funny is being on a Green Day kick and listening to multiple albums in succession and realizing how many songs he talks about walking alone in.

There's a reason they are in the Rock and Roll hall of fame. They are an incredible band.

Shout out to the moms and dads that raised these kids. You did a good job with these young men and women. They think for themselves, and that's great to see.

I found out green day when i was 11, first music video I watched is basket case, then 21 guns was alright. 5 yrs later I rediscovered them again and listening almost all of their albums.

If you think their videos are cool, see them live - this is a real band that puts on an amazing show. Best stadium concert I've ever seen - they have more great songs than time...

As a Green Day fan, it's really cool to see that every teen likes every songs in the video!

On my 7th birthday in 1994, my older brother handed me a blue cassette and said "You're welcome." I looked at the tape, small and simple, with the word Dookie on it. So I went into my parent's room and climbed on their bed to reach their cassette player, popped it in and heard the drums roll right into 'I declare I don't care no more. I'm burning up and out and growing bored in my smoked out boring room.' and my life changed forever. Fast forward 28 years later to today, September 3rd, 2022 and I just listened to the entire Dookie album while driving around doing errands and picking up food. Green Day is hands down the greatest of all time.

Wow, I already have 21 years listening to Green Day, I started at 9 or 10. Now im 31. And still in my top 5 best bands/music of all time. Its incredible. Definitelly they are my next tattoo

"his voice is unpredictable, and you can tell who it is." i can confirm this cuz every friday, my school plays songs in the hallways during passing periods, and there was this one song i recognized but wasn't sure if it was green day or not. sure enough, it WAS green day... i recognized billie joe armstrong's voice almost right away

“i wish i could have been a teenager in this time period! i would have gotten really into this,” i’m a teenage now, and i’m very into this music. they aren’t as popular anymore, but their music is still relevant. that’s to good thing about punk rock, their music talks about issues that are going to be issues forever. like corruption in politics, war, mental health, heart break, society, equality, etc. it never really expires, green day is a band that will honestly be relevant forever.

Eh, not really. Music videos used to be better, but I feel that now that streaming is becoming more prominent, artist don’t care as much about music videos now. They’re starting to come back a little, but I swear I see the same music video for like 10 different songs

I love Green Day but it doesn’t take much to get into rnr hall of fame. Even pop and hip hop artists are eligible for it.

i grew up on green day during middle and high school. I'm a kid of the 80s and 70s hearing them say this is old makes me feel ancient lol Green Day still one of my faves! So good to see younger generation appreciate good music. Music that is as it should be transcends its era and time itself. Rock on young ones!

Me too, I’m 36 and I grew up with them too. However, I didn’t start appreciating them until I was in my late teens… probably in 2004 when American Idiot came out

I’m 32 now. American Idiot came out when I was in school and I remember wearing the CD out and having to buy it multiple times. Every house party or gathering we had, usually had Green Day playing in the background. Brings back so many fond memories.

I'm a teenager in 2024 and I'm a huge fan of them. Literally no one my age I know listens to them but I have a playlist with over 100 songs from them. I'm so happy they are still making music.

These kids got a real treat by getting a chance to listen to real music for a change.

i love greenday, starting when i first heard boulevard of broken dreams and wake me up when september ends. I loved them ever since.

I had to change my sons kindergarten because it specifically said in the handbook “No Green Day music”. He’s 21 now and has been to seen Green Day with me and has always known who they are. My teen years and up and his entire life. Some of these kids have been sheltered from great music.

СРБИЈА1000000 that's not what I was trying to say. If you listen to punk-rock, you find that most of the songs have very sad, emotional undertones with lyrics to match. The same can be said about plenty of other rock subgenres, more specifically classic rock with examples such as Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, and The Rolling Stones just to name a few.
