I like the Green Drummer ,,,,

I served with these guys back in the 70's. I was just a kid then. we had some tough battles all over my room, on the stairs, in the dinning room, heck few rooms in the house were spared from battle. The Greys always put up a good fight. They were skilled and worthy opponents. many a soldier didnt survive, especially when I left them on the radiator, but sacrifices had to be made to ensure the mission was completed. It warms my heart to see these soldiers still serving. May no magnifying glass ever touch their heads and no candle ever scorch their feet.

The green color, the equipment, the folds in the clothing, their physical build, and their poses look exactly like the plastic army men I played with as a kid. Someone spent a lot of time and energy to get those details that perfect.

I'm viewing this on a phone, so I had to look again, and I saw the flopping at the feet which I originally thought was just loose shoe covering material for jungle insect protection. And this time I looked for and saw the mould lines, thanks for pointing that out. Some creative brain or brains did a great job here 😂. (I hope these guys don't overheat in that weather) P.S. I also did not mention the expressions on their faces were perfect too.

Cool story about the Green Army Corps. While we were walking through Toy Story Land in Disney World, we walked past them and one of them complimented my brother's "Boots". He was wearing crocs with black panther and slinky dog charms. He said, "I like your boots soldier"

The costumes, the energy, the playing, and the chops from the tenor were all perfectly balanced and amazingly well put together. Wish they had a cymbal player to fill in the little gaps tho 👍

@@safetinspector2 Ice packs. They use strap on ice packs to cool themselves underneath their costumes.

Hats off to these 'soldiers' for doing such a great job. If they were actual plastic they'd be melting out there. Disney knows how to entertain. I hope these guys are making great money and living the life they deserve. Performance is no EASY JOB and no one would ever see it if these guys are having an off or bad day (like all of us do). Say 'thank you' to a creative today - we have given a lot throughout a lifetime to try to enrich the lives of people around us in so many ways, and it's only getting harder out here. Support actions like the SAG-AFTRA strike - everyone deserves to be treated respectfully - we deserve to have a future when we put everything we have into what we do. Have a great day - ya'll.

I bet somewhere in that crowd a kid thought "I am gonna be a drummer". That was a great performance!

Drum cores always have a special place in my heart, they're such good fun to listen to and watch. These guys especially nailed it, putting on such a good interactive show for their audience

great to see these drummers making people smile and making money doing it. and a shout out to the seamstress, the costumes are spot on! I remember back in the early '90's Sea World in San Diego had a mobile marching band; they be playing T.O.P. and and kinds of sweet grooves, with full drum kit grooves. Knew a few dudes that played in that band over the years.

Those are some skilled drummers! They deserve a field promotion.

I'm just happy about the amount of raw effort these kinds of park employees give towards their jobs. Like, I know they are hired and paid to play these roles, but some people put minimum, and others put maximum, and you can tell them apart easily. Hell, they get to put their drum line experience to work everyday making people happy. Who wouldn't be enjoying their time, and honestly, probably good practice, too.

Back when Disney was just about wholesome entertainment....I miss those days.

Yes, I was surprised they were "allowed" to say "Sir" I thought Disney banned sir, maam, boy, girl , anything sane some time ago.

They were my favorite at the park . Absolutely killed it!

Hahahaha....I'm 64 but felt like 6 again.......loved it !!!!!

Now that is what I call a good performance. Not only they are talented, their cosplay as those green toy soldiers are really excellent. Shout out to the kids that did those 10+ push ups!

OMG, I just noticed their shoes! Nobody beats Disney for total immersion.

It's all fun and games until General Plastro's Tan Army Orchestra shows up.

The fact that the tenor player in the middle can get his legs that high in the air at 1:39 and still control his playing is just impressive. I know that’s not technically difficult to play while moving, but using that much leg strength while having a drum harness on has to be a decent amount of work.

I hope whomever came up with the idea for this group got a hefty bonus, because they really delivered an entertaining show!

I'm 70. I played with green army men when I was a kid, and I LOVE that they have continued to this day as an icon of the good old days! Salute!

Just finished watching this and it was weird. My face hurt, couldn't figure out why. Until I saw I had been smiling like a little kid the whole time. Thanks for sharing this!

Just thinking that. Drum corps folks have a lot of heat experience and acclimation, but they gotta have ice vests or something. Just look at the girls in the background dabbing sweat off while wearing shorts and just standing.

I would sweat all that coloring off just standing there! Impressive that they're playing in all that gear too!

The tenor ticking is gold

A number of years ago we saw the first version of Toy Story On Ice the night a winter storm hit the area. The marching green soldiers routine amazed the audience who erupted with a sustained standing ovation. It was the highlight of the show!

That was an exceptional performance... from the chops to the walks to the patter with the crowd,m, tight as a chaffinch's chuff, as we say on the building sight here in Blighty.

Complete with the “excess plastic” on their shoes. That’s attention to detail! Performance well done.

We gave up Disney about 5 years ago, but these guys are simply awesome.

Serious skills, rare blend of performance and talent

My basic training unit, they auditioned us for drums. We had some former high school and college drummers. We marched everywhere with snares and bass drums. We rocked our marches.

I love how they got the color and poses spot on. I especially like the flat pieces on their boots just like the little green army men I used to play with as a kid. Great drummers that put on a great show. They should be invited to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. I bet they would be a huge hit.

@@thenelsonbruhs722 most flubs can have either 1 or 2 heads. EDIT: judging by the equipment, they might be using Pearl drums. Thus, the drums they are using are: -Pearl Championship quints (small-block) -Championship marching snare -I can’t identify the flub drum, so I’m not sure if its Pearl-branded or if its another brand

These guys love the drum line so much they never quit and took it to all the way to Disney.

I don't remember any of my green army men as a kid being drummers.

Phenomenal! Were they playing bars in reverse in the beginning?? While they were walking backwards? I would have loved to be able to see that live. Not a moment felt forced or overdone. These guys are skilled drum warriors! And have a great stage presence. Something tells me these green men may also be blue on ocassion 🤔

It's a long way from future corps, but pretty damn good.

4:01 first time I have seen a bass drop on drums. Really marvelous, and all of the smiles. Great job, you guys!

WOW!! They look so real! I remember when i was a child, use to play green army men toys in my bedroom. What a good memories back then. Also i played green army men in Playstation 2 back then too. 😊
