Greek island RHODES: Ancient ACROPOLIS of Rhodes, what to see

Greek island of Rhodes, the ancient Acropolis of Rhodes in Greece. Let's travel to the Greek island of Rhodes and let's visit the ancient Acropolis of Rhodes (Ακρόπολη της Ρόδου) which is an acropolis dating from the Classical Greek period (5th-3rd century BC) 3 kilometers from the centre of the island of Rhodes, Greece.
In the island of Rhodes, the partially reconstructed part of the ancient Acropolis of Rhodes (Ακρόπολη της Ρόδου) consists of the "Temple of Apollo" (also, as alternatives Athena Polias and Zeus Polieus) below which is a stadium and a small theatre. The ancient Acropolis of Rhodes is included in a large park, Monte Smith, named for English Napoleonic admiral William Sidney Smith.
Rhodes, the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese islands, is known for its beach resorts, ancient ruins and remnants of its occupation by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades. The city of Rhodes has an Old Town featuring the medieval Street of the Knights and the castlelike Palace of the Grand Masters. Captured by the Ottomans and then held by the Italians, the palace is now a history museum.

Thank you mr Stefanu for clarifying that we Greeks have been ravaged by foreign states and armies, especially by Germans and British. Our history and civilization have been destroyed so cruelly by humen that do not recognise or respect others' cultures. Thank you, moreover, for making this excellent job, showing the Greek monuments to the people. I feel grateful for what you've done!

I discovered the site of the island of Atlantis in 1989 and instead of the Greek Departments of Archaeologist helping to bring this discovery to the world they laughed at me and made me feel like I was nothing They are better now but still ignore my discovery and some have even tried to make it there’s Love your work

How beautiful! I would love to visit Greece. So much history! The Greeks were just unbelievable with their contributions to Mankind. I don't think any other people have given so much to the world. You must be so proud to be a descendant of these magnificent people. I know I would be. Thanks again Vic for your awesome videos.

Is it possible to be homesick for a place you've never lived? Ever since I was a child, I have wanted to visit Greece, and this summer I finally got the chance. But now that I have returned, I miss the country so much, and Rhodes in particular. Thank you for this lovely video-it made me feel as if I was home.

Every time I see a monument of my ancestors being left like that, treated so bad by different civilizations and the left to it's luck by the Hellenic government. Knowing that we will never know how magnificent it was, it makes me feel inside like a part of myself will be missing forever..

Vic Stefanu - World Travels and Adventures bittlestone and Google earth show laertes's vineyard, eumaious's pig farm complete with stone fences and the large rock cleft that breaks the northern wind, literally every step of Odysseus on his return home is visible on Google earth - in western kefalonia. You must read the book before you visit, it is the greatest archaeology since schliemann found troy.

I know exactly what you mean; I have read several books about this and unfortunately, when I was in Kefalonia in 2002, I did not have time to go there.. Kefalonia, by the way, in not just ancient Ithaca, but the palce that Apostle Paul landed at (and not Malta) on the way to Rome..
