Been waiting for a video on this for a while
Every so often a channel appears on my suggestions of such high quality i end up subbing and binging every video that channel ever made... this is one of them... this channel came out the blue for me and now its in my top 5... maybe top 3.. the delivery in the topics is just right up my street tbh.. maybe cause am scottish and get yer dry humour lol i dunno.. but you're so susinct in how ye deliver material its engaging... i love it basically... that said.. hello new here.. and thanks for all the content..so far am absolutely engrossed... would love to see you do a comentary on the scottiah wars of independence (if you haven't already) i think you'd do it with a really cool un biased POV... yer a teacher... teach 😍 10/10 channel (even without scots history lol i just wanna hear someone speak about it who knows how important a subject it is)
Haven’t seen a video pop up this quick! great stuff!
Love your videos ---- look forward to many more.
I've been waiting for this one! I've always been fascinated with the giant statue.
Keep rocking!
Good video 👍
Good stuff Simon, I'm curious to see if you'll do a video on the Statue of Liberty now.
Recently I watched a special, not sure how old it was (could have been earlier this year or even a few years older), but they had recently discovered a large solid structure that was big enough to be the base of the statue. As far as I know, it's still being confirmed.
Quality stuff!

The Helepolis at 160 tons was roughly 3x heavier than a modern tank. The only tank ever made that was heavier was the MAUS, which was almost 200 tons.

Hello Simon. How are you doing? I'm Tim from Amsterdam and I love watching your channels. My compliments. One of the videos is sponsored by babbel. Is there a link???; Thanks
I suggest doing a Geographics vid on Times Square in New York. It has a fascinating history.
I visited Rhodes almost two years ago. It's an amazing place and the people are so friendly. Speaking of Rhodes. Could you do a video on The Palace Of The Grandmasters?
Do you know you used a picture of the modern city of Lindos at 3:01. Lindos is on the island of Rhodes, but 50 km south of the city of Rhodes. Both are beautiful cities and I hope to have to chance to visit them again.
Full of detail. The pace of the presentation is breathtaking.maybe slow down slightly .
One thing I’ve always wanted to know is where you got that beautiful shirt from. You wear in lots of your videos. I want it! Is it Paul Smith? It may not be the best shirt ever made, but it’s in the top one and I want one

somewhere back when I was a kid (1950's) I read, heard that after it fell and cut up it was packed on a caravan by some conquerors then lost in a giant sand storm in the desert. But even then I remember thinking "wow there ain't that many camels on the planet to haul all that away."
Do a story on "The Shirt"!
Simon, since you gave a shot out to the game, I must ask; Have you ever played Shadow of the Colossus?

God of War II flashbacks intensify.
you gotta make the war of roses on one of your pages simon
It rocked back and forth amidst a mighty quake and landed with a sploosh in the depths his nose sticking out like a rock.
The Colossus of Rhodes was a cool boss in God of War 2
You could simply look up all of the wonders in the civ series and do a video on every one, and I’d still watch.
do the Hanging Gardens of Babylon next
The most colossal thing about the statue is its impact on the world. It stood for less than 60 years and collapsed over 2,200 years ago, and people are still talking about it, still know who built it, and how.
SIMON! oh and the writers guy/person/thing... anywho its me the weirdo asking for a video on the Appalachian Trail!
That was one colossal willy on that statue, you sure they were putting their arms around the thumb? :P

One fun fact they might have forgotten to mention is that the colossus might have also influenced the construction of the Roman Colossus, the "Colossus Neronis", built by(you guessed it!) Emperor Nero, to resemble himself, in his equally famous Domus Aurea(Golden house/Palace). After his death, it was later modified by his successor to better resemble the Roman Sun god, Sol Invictus, before being moved to an area beside the Flavian Amphitheatre, more commonly known today as the Colosseum. You might guess why.
