    Same thing happened to my gree mini split.. Not even two years old and both units making loud motor noises. I watched this video and it helped me know where the screws were to remove. The hardest part was the plastic gray piece. Thank you for the video!

    Your welcome. I had two of these units. The one in the video started having some issues after about 5 years and I just replaced it with a DIY Mr. cool 24k model. The other unit is still going strong aside from a noisy blower motor.

    I have the exact same unit and the motor is making a sound. How did you remove the 4 screws holding the motor cover? They are blocked by the pipes.

    YES, this is a huge pain.. I went to harbor freight and bought a really long phillips screw driver and found an angle around the pipes that worked just enough to loosen the screws.. The tolerance in the motor is very tight, so if any little thing like the bearing, or shaft or paint duct gets messed up it will scrape and be noisy. The cheapest place i found in usa to buy the new motor was comfortup dott ccom. Once the screws are out its still not user friendly, you have to force bend things a bit, but you can get it out and the new one in. (it might be worth balancing the fan blade when you remove it) I didnt do that and if i run the unit in turbo mode it shakes... but normal speeds its as quiet as new now. The new motors are different for 115v and 220v.

    i read your comments and all i want to do is get rid of mold growth. so, i can't remove the drain pan, and the blower fins are hard really difficult to remove? i hate this unit. cleaning is this one is so hard compared to everything else i see on youtube. did you use vinegar or bleach to clean parts of it? or did you buy some foaming cleaner?

    I live where its dry so i dont have a big issue with that... but I did buy some of the anti mold tablets on amazon and just set them on the tray. So in case water does get on the tray the idea was it would start to dissolve the tablets and kill the mold.. Your right, I cant believe a company in one of the most humid places in the world would make them without a removable tray.

    Hi, did you ever take the blower wheel out? I never found out how to get to the screw under the plastic protector.

  • @warham4155

    @warham4155

    ya i did get the blower out. its easier to take out than the motor. you need to get the left plastic support with the bushing out. You will need to remove the screws holding the radiator section and lift it up a bit to get to the one screw that holds the fan to the motor.. then the fan will slide out the left side.

    @@warham4155 where exactly is the screw holding it to the motor?

  • @warham4155

    @@jessebensen8009 on the right side of the fan squirrel cage. The motor shaft goes into the fan blade and there is a single phillips screw that hold it there. so inside the fan, maybe an inch or so from the right side of the fan.

    I can’t believe they made the drain pan not removable on this model… Mine spits water after awhile and the drain hose is clean, so I wanted to clean the tray. I opened it up like this thinking I could pull the pan, like so many other units allow, but NOPE! Do you need to get the refrigerant sucked out before messing with the coil? Or can it me moved out of the way while still attached? I’m thinking I may just want to get a pro… Next thing I’ll try before that is trying to spray with tray cleaner then rinse the tray out down the drain with distilled water in a garden sprayer.

    They sell little pill shaped chemical things for helping to kill stuff that grows in the tray. i have two of these units. both started to make noise. Even after changing one of the motors it started to make noice after a while. i dont really understand why, cheap bearings or something. You can only move the coil a little bit. it might be that angle out the drain hose is such that it isnt draining. I live in arizona so its not that humid hear. But still one of the units does start to smell funky sometimes.

    Pretty much all chinese mini splits have this design, even some japanese ones (Daikin and Toshiba), but yeah it's a pain in the ass
