On the US GSN version of the Chase ("It's a Mystery" episode), a couple whose female participant was good at palm reading was in the Final Chase and the beast answered Butane with two seconds and one step left for him to win. Butane was wrong but the civilians answered correctly (Propane), pushing mark back to 14 steps out of 16. The $35,000 at stake was won.

a few good ideas if this goes on. 1: do you believe in miracles? yes! where the contestant somehow wins even when the chances are little to none. 2: go big or go home. contestant wins when it’s all or nothing and they decide to go all the way. 3: technical wins. contestant wins on a technicality. 4: snatch victory from the jaws of defeat: contestant does good, then hits a bump in the road, but still wins in the end.

I remember the $30-$29 war. Gotta give honor to both ladies who were under $99 to win both showcases (I say that because you must be less than $100 away, back then), but they had to go to one of them.

The last Mark DeCarlo episode of "$ale of the Century" should have been there too.

"Flannel" should not have won the money unless the rule is not as I remember Dick saying it: There is a key word or words in every category on the Pyramid. Say THAT before the zero, and you win. Look at the "hyphen" clip for a counterexample.
