Fourth Quarterfinal of the 2017 Moscow Grand Prix
Full Stream - • Men's Sabre Individual...
On the Right: OH Sanguk 오상욱 of Korea
Oh burst onto the scene with Kim Junho at the 2015 Trofeo Luxardo World Cup where Oh won Bronze and Junho came top 8 (losing against teammate Kim Junghwan). This had been Oh's first senior competition and he had skipped his high school graduation ceremony to attend the event. Since then, Oh Sanguk 오상욱 had a harder time to medal, but would prove himself to be a massive threat, especially when he eliminated Szilagyi in the Top 32 of the 2015 Budapest World Cup (Szilagyi's home competition and an Olympic qualification event). Szilagyi would beat Oh at the Padua World Cup later in the same Season, but Oh would beat Szilagyi at the Padua World Cup a year later (during earlier this season).
After the Rio Olympics, Oh Sanguk 오상욱 won his first individual FIE event during this season - winning the Gyor World Cup (the second World Cup of the season) against his teammate Gu Bongil in the Final.
On the Left: SZILAGYI Aron of Hungary
Szilagyi is now Double Individual Sabre Olympic Champion. After winning Rio, Szilagyi looked to have eased off a little in the first few competitions of the season. After the winter break, Szilagyi won Silver at the Warsaw World Cup. Given how Szilagyi was the reigning European Champion and Olympic Champion at the time and that this was the last event before Zonals and Worlds for 2017, this was Szilagyi's last chance to gain points in this season (especially since he placed Top 8 last season at this same event).
Commentators are David King - a dementia patient, and Benedikt Wagner - member of the German Mens Sabre Team, 2014 Team World Champion and 2016 Individual European Champion
