The Jakarta metropolitan area, or Greater Jakarta known locally as Jabodetabek, Jabodetabekjur, or Jabodetabekpunjur (an acronym of Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi-Puncak-Cianjur), is the most populous metropolitan area in Indonesia. It includes the national capital Jakarta as the core city as well as five satellite cities and four regencies. The original term "Jabotabek" dated from the late 1970s and was revised to "Jabodetabek" in 1999 when "De" (for "Depok") was inserted into the name following its formation. The term "Jabodetabekjur" or "Jabodetabekpunjur" was legalised on the Presidential Regulation Number 54 of 2008, although the name Jabodetabek is more commonly used.
The area comprises Jakarta and parts of West Java and Banten provinces, specifically the three regencies - Bekasi Regency and Bogor Regency in West Java, and Tangerang Regency in Banten. The area also includes the cities Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, Tangerang and South Tangerang, all of which are not included administratively in the regencies. The name of the region is taken from the first two (or three) letters of each city's name: Ja-bo-de-ta-bek from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi.
GREATER MANILA
The Greater Manila Area is the contiguous urbanization surrounding the Metropolitan Manila area. This built-up zone includes Metro Manila and the neighboring provinces of Bulacan to the north, Cavite and Laguna to the south, and Rizal to the east.
Though sprawl continues to absorb new zones, some urban zones are independent clusters of settlements surrounded by non-urban areas.
In early 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the area has also been referred to as the "NCR Plus" or "NCR+" (National Capital Region Plus) by authorities, with regards to the designation of community quarantines.

Both city are amazing! They kinda have different vibes tho, imo metro manila have this kinda american city vibe especially the rainy walk one while jakarta is more to asian vibes in general especially the one with MRT, very nice! I hope Asean can continue to grow and become developed country one day👍

That is very smart observation. Yes, Jakarta is more photogenic than Manila. The National Monument alone should make very proud Filipino think about what they need glorify about Manila. Because if its about Iconic structures, Jakarta is loaded with eye candy. And when Jakarta will adopt more Balinese Character, it will be mega stunning.
