I love our Pyrs so very much, but I tell you... truer words were never spoken when they're described as headstrong and stubborn. My young one is 20 months old, and nicely behaved and settled, though it seemed like forever to get to this point! Our older Pyr will be 3 in June, and she takes her job of flock guardian very seriously, indeed. Mind you, the "flock" is just a few kitties and the other dogs, but she minds them like a hawk. Best dogs I've ever had. Your Pyrenees are so very beautiful and loving, and from your praise it seems as though they are outstanding guardians as well. Thank you , Layden Hollow Homestead, for continuing to bring these beautiful animals to the attention of those who might be unfamiliar with the breed!

What a sweetheart. We have a 9.5 month male Great Pyrenees. He is a handful at times. We are looking forward to the day he settles down.

I wish I could snag a puppy from you, I’d love to have a big male like Logan. I love the pure white coat that he has. I’m still working on getting a fence before getting a puppy, but till then I’m living vicariously through you, I hope you don’t mind😅 Thanks for the update between your busy work schedule.

Storm Fiona here did a lot of chewing, whatever she could get a hold of. Not so much now, fortunately. She is a few months older than Misha. Misha looks like Fiona and seems to act the same. Mostly Fiona and my Aussi stay outside at night but not always. Probably not tonight. It is pretty cold out there and I have closed the stable up because of the water pump. And the predators seem to have moved on. The horses are outside tonight here. I have two mares and a solid black registered Canadian stallion who is as cute as a button, lol.

What food is best for the pups 12 weeks on

Do you have any resource guarding issues with any of them? We have a Great Pyrenees that just turned 10 months old. He is starting to have more issues with resource guarding, and we are trying to figure out what to do. Do you have any thoughts?

@laydenhollowhomestead He growls when he has a toy that he doesn't want us to take. We recently bought him a new pillow dog bed and now he does that when he is laying on the bed. If he is laying on the bed and we come up to pet him, he will start where he starts showing his teeth a little. Then, if we stay there, he will start growling.

Try this walk up to his bed when growl stop and sit down Talk to him in soft voice Waite tell he stop growling. Then start calling to get him to come to you. It may take a few time but he well get it. He is still a puppy so don't rush it.
