Join us, Carol & Ken, as we take a trip to the New Forest in our Consort Nova Motorhome called Snoopy.
In this last video of the series we spend a day at Calshot Castle. Plenty to see, including the indoor activities centre, the castle itself, and lots of boats of all shapes and sizes going past all day.
We cook up some delicious smash burgers for lunch and after a relaxing afternoon take a walk along the beach.
Then we try a recipe for chorizo stew sent in by a subscriber to finish off our day and it makes a splendid end to our trip.

Quick one pot meal! Beat two eggs as if for an omelet, place them in the frying pan with a little melted butter , then place a wrap on top then place cheese, oinion any veg that's pre cooked or meat ,cook for about 4 mins then fold in half and cook each side , yummy and fast ! The omelette wrap 😋 thanks for a lovely video

I'm enjoying the longer format and I especially enjoyed the music selections today.
Some lovely cinematography there guys. Loved the outside nightlights shining through the rain droplets on the window. That super zoom is proving very handy too. Totally agree about the NT. Free overnight parking for members would bring in a load of new members and a fiver for non members. They’d make soooooo much more. Take care x

Gee whiz ken and carol, that burger looked delish ok, but you'd have to dislocate your jaw like a snake to get it in your gob! Lol 😲😁😜 Ship spotters paradise that parkup. There's actually a KZread channel dedicated to just that called "Solent ships" which I watch occasionally to see the cruise liners arriving and departing from Southampton. Great vid! Loved the gaff when you called snoopy "little red" lol 😁😜

I'm not sure but I think the building might have been the wartime RAF base & meteorological station. My father grew up just inland of the castle, his uncle drove the supply trains to the castle & base personnel were billeted with them. His cousin later married one of the RAF meteorologists. Dad is no longer with us but he, my aunt & uncle (that meteorologist) talked about it to us when we were young. A peaceful spot now but there were regular air raids in the areas around Southampton & dog fights over Southampton Water. One evening dad was just riding his bike back home from the ferry crossing, he worked as an electronics apprentice building inshore radar boats, when he heard a huge noise behind him. The docks had been bombed & were in flames. He'd missed it by minutes. I regularly enjoy your videos, particularly the absence of "Instagram ready" fakery. I much prefer seeing your real banter & realistic views of places & the unhurried pace - no rushing from one photo opportunity to another without really seeing or experiencing any of it. Thanks & keep on doing what you're doing 👏 P.

Great little spot to park, you both eat like royalty. I was saying to my wife whilst watching I do love our little T6 and we can park in all kinds of little spaces but I am very envious of the convenience and comfort of a bigger van, I can definitely see the attraction. We have spent hrs down at Calshot Spit. It's a great place for watching the liners arriving. When we holidayed in the forest we would check how many and when they were due. Fantastic place.

Interesting to watch your video as we used to live in the New Forest near Lymington. We were back in the motorhome last week at Aldridge Hill just outside Brockenhurst which was lovely. Look forward to watching some more of your videos.

Calshot brought back many memories. Always the hub of the local community. As school kids we spent fun afternoons during term time in the activity centre. Family time on the beach of course, watching the shipping on the always busy Southampton Water. Where you parked I am sure that used to be the area for the RAF shooting range. As cadets we used that often. Fun fact: Lawrence of Arabia, used to work on the flying boats at RAF Calshot. Great video as always.

Hi ken and Carol since I have been watching your posts i am motivated to go and explore yesterday me and my husband went for drive around the Adelaide hills we had a sausage roll and custard tart . Really enjoyed your trip to Calshot castle and what gorgeous light. That climbing wall was huge and the velodrome looked quite scary! LITTLE RED!🤣 stunning views from the roof. You did well with those burgers. £34 is steep. We did a NT. stopover for £10 in the Lake District. But they don’t do it there now. That stew must have been good😉What a perfect day you had. ❤️👍😊

A smile is a lovely thing and on some days it is long overdue. Thank you for the smiles today. I needed one but got several! I was about to ask what they charged per night but I don’t think international travel is in my future. About to bury that notebook and will simply be happy with a home.
