When someone calls Dixter a cacophony, a riot or claustrophobic, cramped and over-the-top it makes me feel crafty and determined to find a way for them to enjoy it! It's like walking into a party at exactly the best hour. So welcoming and ALIVE. The plants are left to reach out and tap you on the shoulder, make you duck as you walk past or even walk sideways slowly as if you're weaving your way between the fragrant backs and elbows of the party guests squeaking 'excuse me...excuse me...sorry-sorry coming through!' Oh it's so much fun. If you're travelling to that part of England on holiday you really have to experience it. Actually, the drive from London to Dixter will snake around many exceptional gardens, historic properties and period-drama-set villages-- make sure you take your time over in Kent for Sissinghurst etc. If you were thinking of visiting the UK and only had a week spare outside of London, then that part of the country is highly recommended; return via West Sussex and the coast if time allows it for there's much more there too. The other direction to go in is Oxfordshire-Gloucestershire. Ideally you'd move to the UK for the whole summer and do it all! LOL Stay safe all and happy holiday planning (for 2021 hopefully). :)

Compliments to the sound engineer and the creatures that made the sounds; and long may they continue to do so !
