Great Dane Owners Share The 1 Thing They Wish They Could Change! | Great Dane Care

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

After gathering feedback from hundreds of Great Dane owners we compiled a list of the things that they wish they could change or had done differently with their Great Danes. Not surprisingly, there were a lot of commonalities that arose from this survey! In this video, I walk through the common themes that came up and discuss potential ways to address them.
Also, linked below is our book "The Great Dane Puppy Handbook" that walks through all of the most common questions that Great Dane owners have. This book is jam-packed with helpful information, tips, tricks, and timesavers that will not only save you money but also help you have a better relationship with your dog.

Great Video....Got your BOOK and I Love it. Reading and studying it. Please speak on what treats(training and otherwise) you give Gus who is Gorgeous. I never give my Dane Babies Rawhide or Pigears or any of that kind of junk. Thank you and Gus.

Having 2 Danes at any given time has been one of the best things in life for the last 30 years. Although losing a member of the pack has sad downsides, adding a new member has all the love and joy that reminds me daily why I'm happier than anyone else I've known.

Your last comment is so true! We lost our beautiful, blue,Great Dane in February. Just a few day after her 7th Birthday. We weren't ready to lose our Mia. So cherish every moment you have with these wonderful dogs.

I got the only two females out of a litter of 13. They were the absolute best babies ever and they were so funny. Two completely different personalities but we never had them chew anything or get in much trouble cause they kept each other busy. I would recommend getting littermates but it’s not for everyone!

2 girls, a brindle and a blue merle from the same litter. They are something else entirely. We got to the point where we have one as an "outside" dog for a month or so while we house train the first one. And by outside, I mean our fully air conditioned garage and fenced in back yard. And once we train the first inside the house, we'll bring in the second. Cause trying to get them to mind while they're together is sooooo difficult🤣

3 weeks ago we adopted a 3 month old rescue dog. We were told she was a Great Pyrenees. Wrong...it is obvious she is a Great Dane. She looks exactly like other GD puppies on You Tube I see. So I have been watching your videos for information. As you stated, sure enough, she follows me around the house even when i move while she is sleeping. And her paws are huge. Thanks for the help in learning about this breed. I find your videos to be very helpful and informative in your organized and well spoken manner..

Hello! I’ve been watching your videos for a few months now ever since we decided to get a Great Dane. We will receive our beautiful Dane on Saturday and are really excited. I have a question though. Our breeder is pushing a vitamin supplement called Nuvet. Do you have any experience with this? From my research I’m concerned it’s a scam that only benefits the breeders with a kickback. Any information is appreciated. Thank you

We LOVE our Gronk, but would not complain if he could learn to wipe his mouth after drinking. Man does our boy drool. Sometimes I wonder if any water actually makes it to his belly. It’s a good thing he’s so handsome.

How do i keep mine from launching off of me or being a total nut case. Ive been raising dogs for 25 years and Coda is very sweet, but he gets into trouble being wide open. I have 3 other dogs and they all get along. He is very protective and runs out the dog door at 100mph. I did research before i got him.. hes a good boy.

Hey Zach! I just got an 8 week old Great Dane and he doesn’t seem to be food motivated. Can you please respond with some helpful tips on how to train him. When I tell him to come he seems confused even with his normal kibble he doesn’t seem to budge but will start whining. This is my first ever dog.

Getting an 8 week old GD puppy in a week. At what age should we start walking the neighborhood on leash? Assuming no more than about a half mile while he’s under 12-16 mos.

  • @GreatDaneCare

I’d start practicing walks right away so they learn leash behavior. You can slowly build up the distance earlier than a year, they just shouldn’t be forced to run on leash while they’re young

We never recieved any info on our great Dane before we got him. They couldnt even tell us how old he was so our vet started all his vaccinations from scratch. Let me tell you it would have been great to know his temperment before we got him because he is wild. But we still love him. Also we are too afraid to take our great danes outside our yard as the neighbour across the streets dogs have already attacked ours. We dont want to put them through anymore trauma

Get pet insurance!! Danes can have a lot of health issues and their vet bills can end up costing their owners thousands of dollars. We did our research and found a reputable company that helped give us peace of mind knowing we would never have to let cost drive our decisions when it comes to our big fur baby!

My Great Dane puppy is 3 weeks old. I visit her every Saturday at the ranch until I can bring her home at 8 weeks. I play with her ears. I put my fingers in her mouth and I touch her paws. Because the groomers and many KZread dog trainers have said do this so they use to it. Wayne the breeder told me once she has all her shots. Is take her to groomers to get socialize with people handling her.
