This tutorial was a lot of work for me. I'm new to this topic as well so I tried to get as many information as possible and searched for the tools I would need for drawing. This video has extra length and is about the basic tools and where to find them for Grease Pencil. If you are new for drawing with Blender Grease Pencil tool then this video tutorial will probably give you a hand!
Because this video was so time consuming I will pause the next week and continue in the first May week.
Cheers

Highly recommend this tutorial for anyone who wishes to learn Blender grease pencil. Very lucidly explained. Please keep doing more such tutorials. Thank you.
This is one of the best overviews of a blender program I have come across; clear and concise, makes me confident to start drawing!
I absolutely love your style of teaching. A perfect blend of visual demonstration, clear explanation and narration, useful graphics and text over screen. Overall, very well organized and presented. I learned so much for just this one video. Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to make this. Subscribed and waiting for your next tutorials!
I've been using Blender for years, but have only recently decided to start learning Grease Pencil. This was a good introduction. Thanks.

This is a great tutorial, i highly recommend to anyone new like myself to watch this, I have a question, i found my blender where we select pencil adjustment, the next drop down option is blank where we can select black, red, gray and dot. anyone please advise.
Oh great tutorial, thank you! I'm just wondering if you have any advice for the brush/ pencil settings. I'm working on a tablet but for some reason the brushes are plain with no change in the stroke thickness, even if I'm pressing harder and there's no flicks on the ends, even though I have my pressure sensitivity on. I've played around with the settings, but still no change. Not sure if I explained that clearly, thanks!

Hey Holly. Do you have this problem with other software as well (like in Photoshop)? Does it work there? I never had this problem before. Maybe update your tablet driver? When I start Blender grease pencil work space I can immediately use pen pressure without any pre-settings
this is great tutorial!! thanks!! btw my pen stroke is even, not like yours.. any ideas why? cheers

Thanks :) In Blender 2.8 or 2.9 is a little button on the right side on 'Radius' and 'Strength'. This is a toggle button and need to be blue (enabled) = Pen pressure.

If possible, I would like the subtitles to appear on the KZread video instead of the video. I am not good at English, so I use KZread's automatic translation function.

will grease pencil substitute toonboom or animate cc or this is? Im thinking grease pencil so i can learn both 3d and 2d at the same time but Im not sure if animation would take longer compared to toonboom or animate

I'm working with a Wacom Cintiqu 24HD graphic tablet. It is pretty old now but I still like it :)
I realise this is outside the scope of this video, but can you import these models into Unity (or another Game Engine)? Would love to mess around with creating some gameplay with the hand drawn look on the environment.
Hi, do you recommend grease pencil for making children book professionally? I was thinking to rather take this grease pencil or affinity designer for that Thanks!

Well im no professional illustrator or anything, but blender's grease pencil seems to be suited more for animation. You can still use blender, you'd just have to render each illustration individually I'd imagine
Thanks for easy understanding tutorial, I need your all tutorial about blender. How can I get this, please tell me.

Hello 25 games do you have a tutorial of creating a simple character using the shapes and lines then animate it?
When I create strokes using my mouse they usually look horrible, like lines in Windows Paint ten years ago. Is it the tables that makes the big difference?
@25games
4 жыл бұрын
I guess so. You have brush sensivity with tablets. By drawing with mouse you have always 100% pressure
1. when I get a stroke ( S shape) another lines are view on top end of s shape. but your stroke is only S shape and not another lines. 2. When using that stroke, joining only necessary lines I think. So, how to change settings for that. 3. If cant understand my problem, I can send my screen shot or photo or vedio. Please give me a link for that.

Can we actually rotate the canvas for comfortable drawing position??
@25games

Do you mean to look at your object from left/right or front/back? 1 = front Ctrl+1 = back 3 = right side Ctrl+3 = left side 7 = top Ctrl+7 = bottom side

@@xxxzzzxxx227 you can try go to user orthographic ( camera view i guess) by pressing 5. then you may rotate the camvas by pressing Shift+6 (to the right) or Shift+4 (to the left)
how to draw on the next frame without erasing the whole canvas?

Thank you very much for this hint! I will consider this for my next videos.
Sorry, I really want to learn it, but your english is VERY hard to comprehend..especially pronunciation, and incorrect grammar in subtitles, and so on.. I'm no technic nerd, so I really must concentrate to get a grip.. Why not make a german tutorial, instead..? ( I'm german, too) At least then, I would have a chance to understand it better.. You could add english subtitles after that, I you like to reach an international fan base.. I'm trying to watch it for the 4th time now, and it really drives me crazy.. And please let the subtitles be an option, only..And do not put it in obligatorily.. Don't want to offend anyone..but this makes me agressive almost..

Already had this discussion on this channel and I let the community vote for it. The result was english dub / english sub and most people said that they have no problem with my speaking. Only a minority of people said that this is too annoying for them. I really understand this problem / topic and I thought about it very often. I'm always try getting better for each video. Thank you very much for the feedback. I will try to keep the subtitles obligatory, as you suggested.
