Environment Design with Grease Pencil & Blender 2.83 alpha | Project Breakdown
Фильм және анимация
Hi folks! It's Shenuka with another tutorial!
With this project I wanted to try out building a layered environment using Grease Pencil combined with some 3D elements. I decided to use Blender 2.83 Alpha to try out some of its new features for Grease Pencil. Blender lights affect Grease Pencil objects now!

Tip I picked up literally yesterday: If you want to skip the copy-pasting to loop the animation (1:40), you can use the "Time Offset" modifier to pick a section of frames to loop. You can choose the layer or vertex group to loop, too, among other things. It won't show up in edit mode, but it shows up basically everywhere else and then if you make changes to a frame you don't have to re-copy-paste that frame everywhere. Good luck everybody!

@@TeamMiracles It's so difficult (at least for me) to find info about how to use GreasePencil, so I appreciate you putting up this video!

We don’t need to know you “literally” picked it up yesterday. It’s not important. You’re contributing to the overuse and misuse of the word. If you can remove literally and the sentence still makes sense, it wasn’t necessary in the first place. It’s just a crutch.

@@TeamMiracles Every tutorial I see only gets me from one rabbit hole to another , although we have to make with what is given , I would Like to ask you is there a fundamental thing I am missing in learning the tool ? what was your approach ? when you started learning grease pencil
@JustVoidzzz
2 жыл бұрын
@@ProjectAtlasmodling stuff like the cliffs and the ground can be seperated into different layers and not change, the waterfall would have to be animated like in this video and you can use the compositor for things like lights and blurs.
Looks really good! That waterfall must be autodesk tears :3

Awesome technique. How do you use this lasso mode to create shapes like for the waterfall foam or the fog? I can only get the cutting lasso with ctrl + alt.

You can make a grease pencil material with a fill but no line and draw in the shape... its the same drawing tool, not a lasso tool
