Rolling stunner is a cool transitional move/signature. For me it’s never the type of move that should be a finisher even tho it would hypothetically bury the stunner, but it makes sense coming from someone like him for it to not be a finisher. It’s a spot type of move, which is why I say this. Now is it one of the worst finishers? I mean to you it clearly is but kinda goes to show you might’ve not watched enough wrestling lad

he's either too drunk/tired/hungover or too lazy/lacking motivation/too "cool" or possibly misunderstands priorities (often respectful unless disrespected, yet also acts disrespectful unintentionally) or has difficulty performing certain tasks (operaring ladders). He could be simply a masterfully deceptive warrior who knows to play the character. There could be a handful of vague explanations

I only really watch AEW's PPVs, so I could be wrong, but I think it's because the gimmick is so silly that people can't help but love him. Like Danhausen, or to an extent Santino.

theres a million things to like about him! he's got a good look, aesthetic firstly. it's classic americana denim, which both compliments and contrasts with his style, cause he's lazy and vain, kind of appears spoiled, but generally gets the job done and eventually turns up the pace to match anybody. he does it as a smaller guy, which is always heroic and always has an underdog feel to it, whether he is the champ or the challenger. beyond all kayfabe, you've a got a master of all the moves who, because of his style, ends up taking lots of bumps and doing crazy spots and never before seen parlour tricks as well as clever twists on traditional exchanges and slapstick comedy. he literally has to work harder than most ( comedy isn't that easy... try doing standup comedy-- without speaking, please) and in a variety of ways. The only thing he doesn't really do is giant strongman moves. the transitions and counters are essentially one of a kind, especially once the hands are in the pockets. he doesn't even do a diservice to kayfabe because HE is the one being lazy. Nobody is selling his taps as if they were powerful. His style is so unorthodox it creates funny moments but at no point is kayfabe being sacrificed in the whole act. Now unlike Hulk Hogan or Sting he isn't going to straight up No Sell to your face, but it is a liberty of his character that he is wirey and tough as undercooked bacon so he is going to potentially take a lot of punishment and have that delayed reaction throwing a wild card into the mix. It's a wild card style, making for a great worker who spices up the vanilla psychology. I personally prefer him because he caters to an adult male audience who is totally unconvinced of the "realism" and gently takes the piss out of it tongue in cheek. It's really lacking any sarcasm when its just two thugs tossing around their man-meat as if that alone could satisfy my attention. No, I'm afraid there needs to be some unexpected swashbuckling exchange to give me intrigue. I could, can and might go on, but I hope this starts to paint the picture

terrible entrance, terrible gimmick, good wrestling, terrible music. Wahlberg should have lost
