I think xbox are winding down in the console market. I think Scorpio will be their last dedicated console. I think it will be 100% pc after that.

most nintendo wii u games (or all them I think) ARE 60 fps at 720p. Theystill look amazing though.

Not a biggy, your point still more than stands, I just like to keep it to that platform only when having these kind of discussions. Playing Gravity Rush 2 at the moment, and been trying the NIOH last trail demo. GR2 is a GOTY Contender for sure and if NIOH keeps this up it could well be too

It's impossible to run this at 60 fps without sacrificing too much, even on a ps4 pro. Only a pc with a good cpu can handle this but it is a console-only game

it's a big improvement...gone are the pixelation from the first update. I'm guessing full 2880 X 1620 checkerboarding. (it was 1440 X 1620 before with first update)

I believe so from the look of it. The remaster of the first one looks great too anyway and runs at 60fps, so you should play it either way.

Too bad it didn't sell that well, so there probably wont be a Gravity Rush 3. Its so weird, the best games in my PS4 collection are games that didnt sell enough to get a sequel.

i have been noticing that the frame pacing on pc is much worse than on console when playing at 30fps. I tried locking gta 5 and arkham knight at 30fps and both of them were barely playable and appeared jittery as hell where as on console they appear much smoother due to having much better frame pacing. This issue though is only present when locking the fps @30, when its at 60fps it runs as smooth as it should

If you have an nvidia card, I suggest you use nvidia inspector to cap the frame-rate instead of RivaTuner or any other program. I've noticed RivaTuner to work really well for most games, but it can cause frame-pacing problem in some games. Anyways, using nvidia inspector will give you consistent frame-rate with 0 frame-pacing problem.

That's misleading, Rich. If the resolution was bumped down to 1080p on this, it might be able to run it at that framerate. I can't say for sure, though, as we don't really have the ability to benchmark the game. Looking forward to Nioh at 60fps, which actually has that option, though. And yes, I have a PC, too.

Rich Pirañha not necessarily, neir automata runs at 1080p60fps on the pro and imo looks better than this game graphically. I think it all depends on the developers and if they prefer higher res or fps, or in some cases put in the time to give us the option to choose, which should become a standard for the pro

Considering that the 4k resolution is applied to the geometry, and everything else is rendered in 1080p on the pro, would it be accurate to say that a downsamped 4k image in this case would be the same as running the game at 1080p with 4x msaa? Thanks for any replies.

PS4 Pro is a premium system that people paid an extra 100-150 dollars for, and support for it is basically just a grab-bag of features that aren't consistent between games or even publishers. It's absolutely ridiculous. How difficult is it for every upcoming game to have these options for PS4 Pro: PS4 Original, 1080p 60FPS, High Detail 1080p 30 FPS, 4k 30/60 FPS It's 2017 and games are STILL being made in archaic manners like tying physics and animations to intended framerate.

I low key like that. Because I just wanna see the different methods developers use (I'm into game development) and how creativity and talent overcomes limitations.

Not sure if I'll get this game. What I wanted to ask though is, when are you guys doing more Xbox One backwards compatible comparisons? I'm really interested in the more recent games, like Mass Effect 2 and 3.

Gravity Rush 2, Horizon Zero Dawn or Days Gone will be my ps4 GOTY.

So did HDR support make it in? If not... hopefully in the day 1 patch. I know in recent interviews the director mentioned his rendering team was working to add it.

I have a normal PS4 and an Xbox one, is it worth it to trade them for a new PS4 pro? I do have a 4k TV and i don't play with my Xbox much ( i'm interested in the Scorpio tho ). I love the options of better visuals or better framerate, this will be very awesome when all the new PS4 games have these options.

I'm still debating on whether or not I should get this game (it's been a while since I've beaten the first game on Vita, which I still enjoy on PS4), but it's good to hear that performance doesn't drop below 30fps outside of rare instances, especially considering the sheer amount of chaos there can be on the screen.

The game just got a permanent price drop to $20 on PSN so *GO GET IT* :D

After playing the demo on a base PS4, I was disappointed with the framerate in the starting area and decided to wait on the game. Coming from the 60fps remaster, it was wayyyy too jarring. But after seeing that they fixed a lot of the problems, I'm definitely going to buy it now, so thanks!

I really liked Gravity Rush on Vita. I wonder how good this one is after the move to home console.

I love the Cell Shaded art style, it also works well with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on the Switch. It creates a clean and good looking game that has good performance etc, not every game should aim for photo-realism etc.

Right? It's fucking dumb. Why on earth would I want UHD resolution over an actually good framerate? They could at least give us the option to run it at 1080x60. Though I suspect it's more a physics issue, in which case they really shouldn't have put a weak shit CPU in their premium hardware in the first place (or just offloaded the calculations to the GPU).

I have a standar ps4 and I platinum this game I love it, the only part where framerate drops faster than kat in jupiter style is in a side mission "find the idol 2" where you should be followed by 100 NPCs which unlock a challenge which I manage to be follow by over 100 NPCs and frame rate goes to hell. but I understand all the processing involved.

There is something nostalgic about this music really loving it

Man, this game looks amazing; so much colour and style on display. The combat looks really fun too. Damn. Between this, Nier, Horizon, Nioh, and probably a bunch of other games I'm forgetting, I don't know how I'll find the time to play them all.

Looks amazing, but I so wish you could have the option to have this game run at 60. Even an unstable 60 would be fine as long as it runs from 50-60. Also having played gravity rush remastered and gravity rush 2, I felt some input delay when it comes to certain moves. Only played gravity rush 2 for an hour, everything but the float and gravity fall commands have had some input delay. It's not a lot, but it felt a little more laggy compared to gravity rush remastered. I did not feel right to me

I think it's called "Discovery of Gravitation" or something like that. But there is no piano version of that out yet. When the game comes out, hopefully it'll play that same music.

You know, watching this video actually makes me want to play the game. I didn't have any interest before, but it actually looks really interesting.

Can you show us how Kingdom Hearts 2.8 performs on PS4 and Pro?

Very happy to see they fixed the framerate, I thought it was pretty bad in the demo. Having tried the demo around the same time I started playing the predecessor for the first time (on ps4), I must say that 30fps seemed abit jarring at first, in a game as fast paced as this one.

I love the art style of the game, I remember three years ago when I used to own a vita, I played the first one of this game. Pretty decent game tbf.

OH MY GOD , I can't take it anymore, I was planning on waiting for the PS5 to be released & use my PC for gaming in the meantime, but with all of those awesome exclusives coming to the PS4.... I don't think I can wait any longer, I might as well just get a PS4 & keep the PC for world of tanks & the other games which I have already bought.

It depends on the refresh rate on monitors. Large television screens made for living quarters most commonly have a refresh rate of 60 hertz, meaning a form of media will be rendered on-screen based on that info. A game running at 60 FPS will have your screen refresh every 1/60th of a second, while a game running at 30 FPS will have your screen refresh every 2/60th of a second. That's where 45 FPS doesn't belong. In order to render a game at 45 FPS, the screen will switch refresh rates from 1/60th to 2/60th, leading to issues with frame-pacing, and you'll get stutter. There aren't any monitors that smoothly render at 45 FPS unless the monitor in question was custom-built with that in mind.

The art alone in this game trumps any kind of technical analysis, which I feel is kind of reductive for games like this. Is that giving so called "art games" a free pass? Maybe. But you still have to marvel at the wonderful visual style of this game and put aside pixel counts and framerate aside for the moment.

I really wish the Pro had the option to run especially this game at 1080p\60fps :( is not that I can't play this at 30fps but after playing the remaster it felt so good and smooth, oh well :C
