That feeling when your favorite character in the show is also the major spoiler so people barely ever mention him

I agree that Dipper's character can be a bit redundant and repetitive during the series, but at least his character has an arc throughout the series. Another problem is that Mabel doesn't really have an arc, whatsoever. She's the exact, same character throughout the course of the series without any real growth to her character. With all that said, I still LOVE "Gravity Falls!" While not without its flaws, GF has become one of my all-time favorite animated series! 😊

Mabel does have growth. She learns more about relationships as she dates various boys, and by the end she is able to grow up while still having a piece of her childhood self always with her. That was the point of Espcae From Reality.

Katie Lewis I don't think that's the case. Greg Heffley is portrayed as a lazy and selfish kid who uses his 'friend' Rowley to his advantage. Mabel, however, while she made Dipper give up a few things for her 'boy-love' she is still light-hearted, cheerful and in 'The Deep End' she actually HELPED a young merboy return to his family (and to the people who say she was selfish in Weirdmageddon, think about it from her point of view, and she tried to save the day in the end). She definitely isn't as selfish as Greg.

T.E.C._1 actually she's been really selfish throughout the series especially to Dipper hell it's called out in Sock Opera and while you can say she learned from that she really didn't cause that's the whole backbone of the final arc of the series, not to mention SHE WAS THE REASON WEIRDMAGEDDON STARTED cause she gave up something that wasn't hers and she knew that too to Blendin. In Escape From Reality, Mabel is being a brat I mean Dippy Fresh is the biggest example of this. Now don't get me wrong, Dippy Fresh is hilarious but the whole reason he exists is because Mabel wants someone who is always supportive when in reality, DIPPER HAS BEEN DOING THAT FOR HER IN THE ENTIRE SERIES WHICH IS ONCE AGAIN CALLED OUT IN SOCK OPERA. And the whole reason Mabel left was because Dipper had to give up his dream and had to once again only think about his sister which is not something he needs to be taught. So in the end, Mabel got what she wanted and didn't learn anything.

The first Disney show AniMat reviews, the first 10/10 he gave to a show, and the first time to give an updated Approval.

Oh, Yes. Gravity Falls. This, Phineas and Ferb and Wander over Yonder are my favorite Disney shows. Disney has made an animated supernatural mystery show, It's like Scooby-Doo, but no talking dog, no disguised men, real monsters, etc. I wish Disney can make another animated supernatural mystery show like this... or pulling an "Adventure Time", where Disney get the rights and pick up Infinity Train from Cartoon Network.

It's honestly no surprise he likes the show.

My only criticisms for Gravity Falls is that since Ford was introduced so late in the series there’s not really any character development for him and the finale felt rushed, but fortunately Journal 3 fixes both these problems by going really in depth with Ford’s character and putting an extra layer over the finale making it feel way less rushed. I just wish these things could’ve been done in the show but getting them in Journal 3 is better than not getting them at all. Still it’s a 10/10 show.

And if Alex didn’t want fans to guess that Stan had a secret twin so he could do an entire season about Stan searching for Ford, then why did he leave so many clues early on suggesting that Stan had a twin?! In fact, Alex left so many clues hinting at Ford’s existence that it’s almost as if Alex wanted fans to discover him early!

I truly love Gravity Falls! One of my favorite tv shows next to Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, SpongeBob, Scooby Doo, Hey Arnold, Hamtaro, Reimi the Boy, Heidi the Girl, Timon and Pumbaa, House of Mouse and Pokemon. This makes feel I dreamed to become a cartoonist to make great animated cartoons and bring back the good comedy and heart back in the 90's and early 40's and 50's I grew up and love in my childhood.

Animated Antic I am surprised that gravity falls didn’t have a season 3

The only criticism I have for Gravity Falls is with Mabel. While I do really love Mabel as a character, I couldn't help but notice that at the end of a lot of episodes, to resolve the conflicts, Dipper had to sacrifice something in order to please Mabel. I never really saw Mabel sacrifice anything for Dipper to resolve conflicts between them. It made it seem like Mabel was somewhat of a selfish character. I also noticed I wasn't the only one that saw this when I watched "So This is Basically Gravity Falls" from JelloApocalypse, when he comedically brought it up in the video. (Go watch that video, it's great, I promise.) Well, even with that minor criticism, I still wholeheartedly love the show, and have re-watched it many times. It's one of the best animated shows out there.

Gravity Falls is #12 on my list of my sixteen favorite animated television series. Even back in 2012 when this project first premiered on Disney Channel, I wanted to have some reason to like it. As the show progressed, I kept finding myself more and more appreciative of the television project. First of all, I had plenty of feelings for Dipper. I could tell he was a smart boy with plenty of common sense, and even though he was already twelve, he was still pretty cute. I felt legitimately sad when things did not go his way, and I actually got scared when he was in danger. If Alex Hirsch had just gotten a real child to voice Dipper instead of Jason Ritter, this show would have been higher on my list specifically because of Dipper. Don't get me wrong, Jason Ritter gave a good performance, and I should like to use him for one of my future animation projects, but I just like hearing child actors more than hearing adult actors. Secondly, I think the reason why other people like this show is the writing. This show pays good attention to continuity and has plenty of life lessons to learn without forcing them in. There are actually a couple of episodes I like myself, but it would take to long to name them all. I may not like this show as much as Foster's, Chowder or Flapjack, but I will say this is Disney's best television project from the 2010s. And that is why I am allowing it onto my favorite's list.

Diego Diaz I totally agree on Dipper. I like his voice, but I feel like he doesn't sound like a kid at all. If he was voiced be an actual kid, he would feel more realistic.

This was the cartoon that brought me back into animation after disasters like Johnny test, almost naked animals and Fanboy and chumchum left me wondering if this was the future of cartoons and if i was just growing to old for animation. For this reason alone, Gravity falls is my favorite animated show.

I Still Totally Think That Maybe It Was A Lot Cooler That Dipper Pines Kept On Trying To Hang Out With Wendy Courdory On Gravity Falls

Yeah~ i see what you mean about Dipper, but: 1) this is just puppy love and is solved nicely and realistically.. as real as this show gets, and 2) his love for her kind of ends half way though season 1, meaning these 3 examples you shown were in the span of half the season. He atleast shows more attention to mysteries than Wendy.

Wow... I can't believe it's been nearly a decade since this show came out. A decade felt so much longer back then. (I was 15-turning-16 when the show first aired.)

The puppets are actually really amazing though.

Dejay Page well if blue sky is owned by Fox and Fox is owned by Disney. So doesn’t that mean that Disney owns Blue Sky

i’m watching this video very shortly after watching gravity falls in its entirety for the first time. WOW is this a fantastic show. i remember GF being on the air like yesterday and occasionally watching episodes from season 1, but my 12 year old self stopped watching because my “superior intellect” believed it was “too weird” for me. i really hate that i had that mindset. at 12 i was kinda growing out of that watching cartoons phase, but now at 16 years old, i’ve realized how spectacular gravity falls, as well as the entire medium of animation in general, is. from the villian that is bill cipher, the animation, humor, characters, you name it. after watching the end credits of the final episode, i’ve realized gravity falls is one of the greatest animated shows of all time.

I seriously wasn't expecting like, I bet animat liked it, best animated show in this decade, in my opinion, my favorite character being Soos :)

I like Gravity Falls, My favorite part in the show is The Land Before Swine, because they had dinosaurs in that episode like Tyrannosaurus Rex, Gallimimus, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, Deinonychus, Ceratosaurus and Spinosaurus along with those unknown dinosaurs. Also, it has The terrifying incredible and inaccurate Pteranodon which they called it Pterodactyl, in reality, the Pterodactyl was renamed to a small pterosaur called Pterodactylus. The episode also has some reference from Universal Pictures and a a Steven Spielberg 1993 film Jurassic Park and the title of the episode also took the reference from Universal Pictures and a a Steven Spielberg film The Land Before Time made in 1988. Also, There’s someone on KZread who likes the show is Trey the Explainer, you should check out his channel, Plus, I’ve seen his channel about dinosaurs and gravity falls.

I definitely think Gravity Falls is far above Sam and Cat (I actually have a despise/it’s okay relationship with it, despise for moral reasons and it’s okay for quality reasons and the fact that these moral reasons won’t affect me since I’m noticing them), and I’m not not exactly sure what I’m trying to say here other than that coincidence of run-time. I’m a person who’s glad that Gravity Falls ended on it’s second season with the ending it got, but I’d also LOVE a different series/movie/whatever to be made, but being somewhat separate so that it and Gravity Falls itself are judged as different entities. (And I have heard of Lost Legends, I’m looking to get it next time I have access to Amazon since I just got into Gravity Falls about a month or so ago and only heard about it a week or two ago). All in all I just found it kind of strange (but cool I guess) that they had the exact same amount of episodes/run time.

FINALLY 😉😉😉😉😉

This was a show that rivaled my obsession for Star Wars, and that is very difficult to do. The episode Not What He Seems literally had be at the edge of my seat, and drew me into the story. It played with both the character's emotions and mine, and for a moment, it had me doubting everything I knew about the show. It is by far the best episode of ANY series I have ever seen, and one of the many aspects that make Gravity Falls, in my opinion, the absolute BEST animated TV show EVER. Dare I say, it even surpasses Avatar the Last Airbender in quality, and that is not easy to do. It is a must-watch, and certainly deserves to be seen by anyone and everyone. It actually is the only show that actually makes me question if it was a good idea to end it when it did. A part of me feels like they still left many unsolved mysteries, and that the story of the show wasn't finished. A part of me just wants MORE, because I love it so much, and from what I can tell, there is still a lot of material left for at least one more season. At the same time however, a part of me is satisfied with the ending, as in real life, there are still many mysteries and questions that will remain unsolved, and that we will never know the answers to these questions and mysteries in our lifetimes. They may not even be solved in our children's lifetimes, if ever. It was still a really good ending, and is yet another reason why the creators of the show are still releasing new content from the show long after it ended. Gravity Falls touched me like no other show, or even movie for that matter, ever has. I would give the show a solid 10/10 any day. Also, just as a side note, I do have another personal connection to the show, seeing as the voice actor for Lil' Gideon is my cousin-in-law once removed. Small world.
