Hopefully it's a cow who lives on a sanctuary otherwise the scenario is grotesque as hell. I.E a dairy cow receiving care in order for the farmer to keep profiting off of them only to be sent to a slaughterhouse when they are "spent" at the age of 4-5 after being continously made pregnant in order to lactate, their calfs being separated at birth each time.

The recycling thing you showed at the end is standard in every German supermarket, it is called "Pfand" here and it is used to collect bottles and cans so they can be recycled or cleaned and reused to prevent millions of tonns of trash every year! The recycle thing isn't just Norway, it's Sweden, Denmark and I believe Finland as well (might be other countries too). It's a way to incentivise recycling and promote people to avoid littering. It actually ends up being taken very seriously, like people will judge you for unecessarily throwing bottles and cans in garbage bins rather than recycling.

As long as the bar code on the bottles and cans are intact and not buckled, they usually go through, and for bottles you can often just blow air into them or just unscrew the cap to undo most damages. I don't think I've ever had a bottle so crumbled down that I couldn't recycle them, and I've likely recycled thousands of bottles by now

You pay 25 Cent per bottle/ can and I think 7 Cent per glass bottle when you buy them, and get that "deposit" back from the Maschine later on. Our machines however, don't have a lottery option. Ours have a payout, where you get a slip and bring that to the register, they will either deduct it from yournoeuchase or give you cash, whatever you want. The other option / button you have is donating it to a specific Organisation.

I recently went to a music festival in Germany where they had a bottle & can return machine in which you didn't need to insert them one by one but you could dump a garbage bag full with cans & bottles into it and it would sort and count those for you. Took around 1 minute for the machine to count our 72 beer cans and 4 bottles, which single handedly paid for our next rack of beers. The return machines that you showed are also common here, but it was the first time I saw one that handles huge loads at once. I call them return machines, since they don't really recycle the bottles & cans just yet, they just squash and pack them, which of course shall be the first step in the recycling process.

In the Netherlands we have to bottle machines without the lottery part. For each bottle you get a bit of "statiegeld" (a receipt/voucher) which you can use to (help) pay at the checkout. The idea behind "statiegeld" is you pay extra for the bottles when buying them, which you get back after returning them, so people don't just throw them away/in nature.
