What I got from your comment: 1) A monk can travel around the world from Day 1 and without doing any 'tapasya' claim that he is a monk 2) Monks should be a millionaire and materialistic in every aspect of life 3) once you are a monk you can enjoy life to the fullest. 1. Jay Shetty was my teacher in the ashram in London for 2 years. I can attest to that. 2. Spiritual awakening is a process. So depending on what he was refering to, the date may be different. 3. The plagiarism thing was in the start and he corrected that error. How often do we say things that we didn't invent ourselves, without always giving a reference upfront? 4. @@hieroprotoganist34401. Proof: Just go there yourself, it's a big institution. Hundreds of people there know him from that time. 2. Why should he not go to India? His ancestors are indian. Everyone in the ashram there went to India at least once, because that is where the roots of that spiritual tradition are. I myself have been more than 10 times. Also, his Guru, Radhanath Swami (whom I happened to see today in person) has several projects in Mumbai, which is one place where he spent some time for sure.

It's very sad that everyone is just looking for means to pull down every other person. If you have listened to him , you'll know he has some helpful advice for us. I don't listen to him because he was a monk , I listen to him because his advice resonates with me.

When Jay told his story and said the Monks didn't found him fit for the calling .... I am like, nahhhh! Sick and tired of these so called gurus.

Saw him first in Ranveer's podcast..didn't like his attitude..never followed..Thank god to give me a good sense to judge

Exactly... Now channels are slaughtering out the story to gain views... I don't know to me it was totally clear that he's not a monk today... He was a spiritual seeker who went to India, and then decided to go back to a worldly lifestyle. He has damn talent to market himself and build a brand that's why he reached that far. If i look at most life coaches they often struggle to even survive by that profession.

Whatever has been said here could be said about anyone, regardless of their profession, background, and age. Until proven, no one should take these allegations seriously. What I sense is that his gaining popularity is hard for some people to digest.

People are worried about his stories of monkhood and present lifestyle but if he is able to bring positive changes in people's life then what's wrong... Please appreciate his contributions.. What is the point if the man who shares the wisdom doesn't experience it for himself ? How could a self-help and a spiritual guru who lies on his approach to life, without knowing the right way for himself and how could he guide a Normal person to do great in life. He have to figure out and gain his knowledge through his works and hardship.Not by stealing it from others and claiming that is his own work.

plagarism is never ok. Every teacher of physics teaches about gravity . but none claims it as they discovered the law.

His story is not unique per se. I am aware of many Westerners who were monks and later dis-robed and who have helped to spread the message of peace and compassion far and wide (see Bob Thurman, Will Tuttle). I have tremendous respect for this. I certainly don’t have the courage or discipline to leave the comforts of the world for an ashram or monastery, so kudos to those who do. I pray for peace for him now as he endures these criticisms.

Whatever good you do in life, there will always be haters. And this video proves that how world turn against you if you surpass the normal standards of goodness. People find it difficult to digest a fact about a person having both material success and spiritual wisdom. Anyways, this would not affect even slightest to Jay Shetty bcz a spiritualist always takes praise and Criticism in one stride ☺

Idk what she is saying.. But Jay shethi's video really helped me to deal with my breakup and motivated me to do things positivelly... And it was really helpfull .. His video healed me and I found many answer when i was broken

There is nothing wrong he had done; being spiritual does not mean being away from material things. It means knowing yourself fully and engaging with the life around us based on what we discover

He has good contributions to humanity, I think he inspired and motivate many people now.

I saw him in person a year ago when he was standing outside of my university. I immediately walked the other way because I sensed his inauthenticity from his social media posts. Kinda predicted this. 😅

So what if he's not living a monk's life, if we're broke in life its some motivational quote or something like that Apart from that there's no need to jump into their personal lives, if he's earning that's his skill

He has helped many and has rooted good values in us. What ever his background he has done good which is freely available for us. Let's have some gratitude for his hardwork. Even if he has stolen content , he has been a bridge in reaching good content to us.

I have many mutual friends with him and I can confirm the fact that he was indeed a Bramhacari (student monk) in ISKCON and had indeed spend time at the ISKCON's chowpathy temple in Mumbai, Indian. I like him also became a student monk for 5 years after my undergraduate studies and then choose to become a high school teacher.

I heard one of his podcasts and I stopped when he was teaching and quoting basically Bible verses but just worded a different way 😅 I just thought, “I could just read the Bible at this point.” That once and then I never clicked on his stuff, just wild also how people of power were, and still are, so easily deceived

If you read talking to strangers by Melcombe gladwell , he mentioned people in general by default we think people speak the truth. ( this is how I interepret ). "Essentially u believe some one not because u have no doubt about them. U believe someone because you don't have enough doubts on them. "
